Aww my heart. Balthazar King is back home at his owners’ farm after almost seven weeks in hospital, since his bad fall in the Grand National on 11 April 2015, where he was run over by Ballycasey.

He has recieved loads of ‘Get well-cards’ as well as “messages, some with money inside along with a request to buy him carrots and Polos - which he can't get enough of.” Read more here.

This update absolutely made my day, in fact, it made my whole week better. :’) However, I hope they retire him and not bring him back to the races when he’s fully recovered.

Balder Succes and Wayne Hutchinson won the Ascot Chase at Ascot, 14 February 2015.

Ma Filleule and Barry Geraghty (green silks) finished second, Ballycasey and Ruby Walsh third and Theatre Guide and Aidan Coleman fourth. Ptit Zig and Sam Twiston-Davies fell early in the race, both were fine.
