If she stopped to think about it, she brought them to this situation. She baited him to have a drink with her and her brother and convinced him stay even after Fernand left. It shouldn’t have surprised her that by the time they did stop drinking, he ushered her away and toward the corner she had seen plenty of other couples disappear to.
Yet, she couldn’t help the gasp that escaped her as he did so. Her eyes traveled up from the exposed skin of his chest to his lips, only a breath away from her own. She unconsciously bit her bottom lip as she forced her gaze upward until she met his eyes. The longing behind his gaze made her heart beat wildly against her chest. This wasn’t a game like she originally thought it was. No this was something much more complicated. But what did she want to do about it?
She gripped his shirt and pulled him closer, their lips crashing together. Her mind was running with a million things that could possibly go wrong if she continued, but that didn’t stop her from curling her hands in his hair and dragging them further away from the lingering eyes.
