A Forgotten Birthday
A DC Villains Drabble Collection
Summary: Short little drabbles for Bane, Deathstroke, and TwoFace, where they find out the reader's friends have forgotten about their birthday. Separate drabbles. These men are very fond of or in a sort of relationship with the reader.
Notes: I tried to make this as accurate as possible, and put all three in one post so hopefully it's not too much. Idk this whole thing is probably corny :/
More Notes: Thank you also to those who liked the previous post of this that was unfinished and didn't save. Here's the final finished writings!
Bane:
•You sat alone at your kitchen counter, elbows on the counter top, fiddling with the rim of your glass. The sun had set already, but you had no energy to move, to start cleaning up your own party, which didn't even get to start. You looked out the window, half expecting your friends or family to show up late...just a few.
•But no one had shown up.
•You heard the door unlock, and a large hulking presence filled the small entryway.
"Happy Birthday, Mi Vida!"
He bellowed as he walked in, a tiny gift box in his large hands, or maybe he just made it seem small.
•He suddenly stopped, looking at the empty space. Nothing was out of place. He walked over to you in the dark, illuminated by a single kitchen light and almost burnt out candles on the cake. On your cake...which was untouched.
"Did everyone leave?" He'd say, dropping the gift onto the counter, "or did I scare them away?"
•You bit your lip, trying to keep yourself from crying and dissolving into a puddle. Tried to act tough, but Bane was smarter than most, and he saw right through your little act.
•He would walk over to you, taking you into his arms, hugging you against his large frame. Running a hand through your hair or rubbing circles on your back.
"Aye Cariña, what's the matter? It's your birthday, you should be happy? No?"
•His voice would be soft, talking to you as if you were made of glass. He cares for you so much, and seeing you so unhappy would break his heart. He'd let you stay silent, or cry your eyes out, ramble and mumble about the situation. He'll listen. He's a good listener.
•Once he was sure you got it out of your system or were reassured, calmed down slightly, He'd pick you up in his arms and take you to your room, kissing you on the top of your head and then forehead.
"We'll go out tomorrow Cariña, I'll give you the day you deserved," He'd whisper, before lighting a candle and getting you comfortable.
•He'd leave your present for tomorrow on the counter or table, then he'd clean up, put things away, and find your list of guests...because how dare they make you feel neglected and unloved. He's meant to protect you and love you, keep you safe from physical threats and emotional.
•He's hunting down the fools that would abandon you on your special day, and their punishments would be based on his mood and how they reacted and responded. He's almost too calm about the matter, and this huge brick wall of a man being calm and collected is more terrifying than him raging.
•Expect flowers and a kiss in the morning, He'd wrap his arms around you and pull you in against his chest and take a nap with you. He'd make you breakfast in bed or take you out to your favorite spots. It's your special day, and just like every day, he will make you feel loved and cared for...just a little more spoiled.
Deathstroke/Slade Wilson:
•You peeked out your window one more time, convincing yourself that maybe this time there would be a friend or two waiting for you. But, it was late...way past the time everyone should have arrived for your party.
•You sighed, collapsing onto your couch. It was late, and no one was going to show up now. Maybe they all got the date wrong?
•You rubbed some fallen tears from your cheeks and reached for your phone, dialing his number. Waiting for the dial tone you stared at the flowers he had had delivered to you that morning along with a shiny necklace and matching bracelet. He was away on business, what for he never told you, but even though he was busy he had time to send you a message and present.
•It bothered you that coworkers you had seen all week, all day, friends you regularly went out with, had forgotten...but this man who was constantly away, across seas and oceans, had found a way to spoil you.
•You heard the man pick up on the otherside of the phone, snapping you out of your thoughts.
"Hey, Babydoll, how's your party? Didya get my gift?" He'd say casually, smoothly. He sounded proud in a way.
But, he would immediately pick up on the way your voice shook, trying to sound happy, thankful. You were thankful for the gift, but you wanted to cry more than anything.
•The only person you wanted more than anything right now was so far away. You explained your situation, how your day had gone, with a shaky voice.
"It's just you?" His tone was accusatory, but not at you. He was upset, but not at you, "where is everyone?!"
•He immediately would hang up, and a few minutes later would send you a message of how he would be home in the following days. You didn't hear from him often, his work kept him busy or out of service range.
•You also wouldn't hear from any of your so called friends, and a few coworkers, who had flaked on your party.
•He would arrive home days later, a smirk on his face, walking through the door dressed up and a gift of some sort in hand. He'd immediately pull you to him, holding you in his arms.
"Afternoon, Sweetheart," He'd purr, "get dressed in something pretty. I'm taking you out like your friends should have."
You'd make a remark that no one you invited had responded to you or followed up all week. He'd just hold you tighter and grin, telling you to forget about them.
•You'd be promptly spoiled on your belated birthday day. Anything and everything you want is yours, no matter how simple or extravagant...but he is taking you out to eat at the very least. He loves showing you off and making sure people know how important you are to him.
•If you want to stay home and eat or watch a movie, have a little lazy day, he isn't apposed, it's your day after all. He wants to do everything in his power to make you feel special and loved and seen...forget about those who wronged you. He might get a little handsy, but he's just missed you and needs you to feel cared for.
Twoface:
•You sat alone in the living room of his Penthouse. It was large and spacious with high ceilings and streamers and balloons hung from the floor to ceiling windows. Everything was decorated in half and half colors and thrown around in halfhazzard fashion, but his henchmen had seemed more than willing to decorate for your party.
•Still as the day and night went by and balloons deflated, not a single one of your guests had arrived. Not a call or text, not a card or email. It seemed they'd all forgotten...or maybe they were too scared to come? But even then they could send you a message.
•It was late when he came back with his two favorite henchmen (holding huge wrapped presents), bursting through the doors, you could hear the mix of Harvey and TwoFace in his voice,
"Happy Birthday, Baby!"
•You'd look over at him, tears in your eyes, seeing more gifts from him and how excited he looks. He'd notice immediately how upset you looked, how empty the space was. It wasn’t right.
"Where is everyone? Did I scare them away? I'm sorry, My Love,"
In some way he would be fighting with himself, thinking it's his fault, that he ruined your day. Maybe his reputation...the way he looked possibly scared your friends away.
•Him saying that, asking that, would make you feel worse, he doesn't intend to make you feel worse, but he cares about you so much and wanted your day to be perfect. He can't help but feeling sad and mad.
•He would hold you and hug you and try to calm you down. You can cry on his shoulder, mess up his suit, he doesn't care. He only cares about making you feel better. He'll let you rant or complain, explain your feelings. Get it all out, he's listening.
•Of course he's listening to every detail, finding out who would stand you up, ruin your birthday party. He's not letting them get away with abandoning you, for making you feel forgotten...unwanted.
•He'd have his henchmen do the activities you had planned, if you wanted to still do them of course. Otherwise he'd reserve a whole restaurant or venue and take you out. Whatever you want to do, whenever, he'll arrange it for you.
•He wants everything to be perfect. You're perfect to him. You care about him, put up with him, of course he's going to do everything in his power to keep you happy and feeling loved, especially on your special day!
•He'd bake you a cake if you wanted it, memorize your favorite songs and movie. He's going to hold you close and make you feel special. He loves giving you little kisses on your forehead and top of your head.
•He'd love to have you sit in his lap or right next to him while you open your presents and cards from him and his men. He'll make you feel like royalty. Seeing you light up and smile makes him happy, he has this low-light-hearted chuckle that comes out when you smile or make weird faces at what his men put in the cards and envelopes.
