Wyrd always leaves such nice comments on my art and stuff, so I wanted to do a little thank you. (I also love her headworld stuff.)

Hope I got Banjaree's likeness okay! He's such a pretty character.

doodled an interaction at work and then decided to attempt to paint it. featuring a few buddies OC’s, @wkjonesnet Aiesha, @wyrd66 Banjaree, and @sarspax Soba, with my Riv thrown into the mix as well.  they hanging at some space cafe place or something.

Our friendly neighborhood paski would like to remind all my American followers-- and anyone else who has an election coming up-- to go out and vote! I got my ballot in the mail and will be sending it out on Monday.

Inspired by a conference call I was just on-- what background would your character(s) choose for their webcam?

Banjaree:  His actual house, but he’d sit in a nice room. Like maybe Geet’s studio/garden. He’d also make sure to be nicely groomed.

Pash:  Screencap of a nuclear explosion. She’d add artful charcoal smudges to her face and clothes.

Dale:  Also his actual house, and he’d probably do what I did and forget to make his bed in the background. He’d wear a nice t-shirt.

Cuneyt:  You really can’t tell what kind of room he’s in, but the wall is undecorated and there is no background noise. He’s dressed as he usually is-- to the nines.

Mongke:  You’re lucky she’s here at all. There’s dirty laundry in the background and one of her photo frames is askew. She didn’t bother comb her fur.

Bea:  Screencap of her office cubicle. Why she has a photo of her actual cubicle is a mystery. She’s dressed like she’s at work.

Julian:  Screencap of an airplane hangar, though the background noise clearly indicates that he is outside and playing with his dog. Deaglan keeps jumping into view.

6. What would STOP your OC from Doing The Right Thing in a tense situation? For Banjaree.

Are we talking morally right, ethically right, or lawfully right? XD  Because as he gets older and figures out his own personal morals, the answer changes.

Banjaree eventually gains the confidence to stick to his guns and stand up both for himself and others.

7. Realistically, could your OC (in their normal circumstances- i.e. at thier own house/battlecamp/spaceship etc.) keep a small child alive for a week if they had to?  A Dog?  A Houseplant? A rock with a  smiley face painted on? For Dale.

Dale helped out a lot with the kids on Zuijia Colony, so he would have zero issues keeping them both alive and healthy for a week. He’d have a new little pal. He could probably manage a small, well-behaved dog, but he doesn’t have a lot of experience with pets.

I think he has some kind of unkillable houseplant in his apartment on Unity (plants are nice! and relaxing! right? right? oh please don’t die), and it has so far survived a few months, so yes! He can definitely keep a plant a live for a week. I think it’s a snake plant, because I am fond. And a rock would be fine.

8. If your OC had to take the S.A.T. tomorrow with one night to prep, how would they do?  both emotionally and academically. For Julian.

He’d wing it. He’d do great on math and physics, tank history and biology, and below average on literature. And as he slammed the test into the proctor’s inbox he’d be like, “WELP I TRIED.”

9. What would cause your OC to chose to do something petty/pointlessly cruel? For the Unity AI.

Ship and colony AI can get pretty snarky at one another. Unity definitely holds air own.

10. On a scale of “Complete and Justified nervous breakdown” to “Conquer The Entire Galaxy and become an Immortal God-Emperor”, how well would your OC handle being abducted by Aliens? For Mongke.

If she was abducted by humans she’d do a bone-deep sigh and prepare herself for a life of continual and unending interest and adventure.

7. Realistically, could your OC (in their normal circumstances- i.e. at thier own house/battlecamp/spaceship etc.) keep a small child alive for a week if they had to?  A Dog?  A Houseplant? A rock with a  smiley face painted on?

Julian can definitely keep a dog alive. A small child may be pushing it. (”Here is a cookie– kids eat cookies, right? Okay, now go– somewhere else, and play or whatever kids do.” And, “You want a bedtime story?? Do I look like I know any fucking kid’s stories?”)

I think he would definitely kill a houseplant.

Now I want to give him a rock with a smiley face. (”It’s my guard rock.”  “Your what?”  “If someone is bugging me, it hits them in the face.”)

16. How strong or weak is your OC’s Impulse control? What’s the worst thing that happened becuase of thier Impulsivity or inability to be so? 

I think that Banjaree’s impulse control is not as good as he thinks it is. Especially when his cousin (and later, Pash) is involved. Upta and Banjaree have definitely had a lot of misadventures together, running around on Unity and being wild children.

I want to say that the worst thing that happened might have been when Banjaree was in his tweens, and some paski called him trash, and he bit them. Not good. Military Police got involved, his aunt Rishi (one of the local MP “chiefs”) had to step in, and he was grounded for quite some time. The Awir-Keroor family got into trouble, too. Banjaree had a very serious talking-to from his aunt, uncle, and papa about his behavior. (Rishi’s was stern but not unsympathetic, Sona’s was pissed, and Geet’s was sad.)

He was better-behaved after but a lot angrier.

17. How does your OC sabotage themselves?

Dale has some self-worth issues along with PTSD, so sometimes he doesn’t really think that good things deserve to happen to him. Or if things have been good for a while, he gets afraid that something bad is imminent. Being involved with the Protection Force also isolates him from other humans in many ways– he literally cannot talk about his involvement with anyone, because death!– so he gets very lonely.

He wouldn’t trade Cuneyt for anything but sometimes it would be nice to share his experiences with someone who isn’t, you know, brainwashed.

Banjaree's most prized possession?

A necklace that his Papa gave to him for his Bina See Singa. I’ve been drawing him with it pretty much since I created him as a character.

He also likes his garish rainbow leg warmers.
