Banshee Headcannon
Nilo wears a lot of rings because he likes to play with them when nervous or bored as well liking the look of it.
He wears three on each hand, like below.
Most of the rings are simple of have minimal design on them.
On his right hand he wears a mood ring pictured below. He does know how they really work but refuses to accept that and will fight you if you try to tell him anything other than its colour is based on his mood.
Banshee Headcannon
As banshees are related to fae (traditional meaning of the word is woman of the fairy mound or fairy woman) it means the magic surrounding their true name is effective to Nilo.
What this is, is that Nilo has two names. His given name that everyone knows, Nilo. And a second name which is his true name, Nilophim , which only very few people know. If someone knows his true name it can be used to control him. Knowing a banshee or faes true name gives power over them and can be used to control them.
Nilo has only told his family his true name as is tradition on the island he grew up on. Apart from that his name has never been said as one of his greatest fears is telling someone who he cares about and then them using it against him or to control him.

Nilo's phone is incredibly important to him. He uses it a lot for communicating with people, as well as writing down any ideas he may have. He tends to use apps whenever he can. If he goes out for food and can order on his phone then he will. Because of how important it is, he always has a charger on him to prevent it dying.

Nilo is from Rousay in the Ornkey Islands (off the shore of Scotland for those that don't know). He does have a slight accent but it's very soft.

Physical Description ~ Nilo's hair is often at a medium length but because of his natural curls it never looks the length it is. Background ~ Male banshees are a rare occurance among banshee tribes. But when they do occur it is as a message from the other world. Nilo was born into the banshee tribe, with his banshee mother and human father. He was raised among the banshees on a small island isolated away from most humans expect for a small community of Fishermen and farms. Nilo liked the quiet life and the rural things while growing up, in particular he enjoyed learning the skills involved. However the remoteness of it all meant he never really interacted with childern his own age until he was much older and quickly developed a lot of anxiety when talking to anyone. The first time he met another child his age, he was around 7 and immediately found he couldn't talk to them. No matter how hard he tried, he simply couldn't find the words. That was Nilo's first experience with selective mutism. Shortly after that he had his first premonition and experience of wailing which came as predicated and the death of a local fisherman happened . That experience scared him completely and mixed with the anxiety he had, Nilo became selective mute with the majority of his interactions. Nilo eventually moved away from the island when he began his writing in search of more inspiration that the rural life he has
Personality ~ Nilo is incredibly nervous and shy when he first meets someone. It is rare for him to make the first approach in any form of relationship. Once he has fully gotten to know someone is when he feels comfortable enough to speak. Before then he mainly communicates with sign language or writing in a notebook. But once he starts talking, the Goofy fun loving side comes out.

Nilo's House
Nilos house is in a quieter part of the city he lives in. He tried to find something that was similar to what he had back on the island (a cottage) but when that failed, he came across this small home that he loved. He finds his home as his safe place.
His home is mostly in natural colours with the occasional pop of bright colours. There is plenty of surfaces for him to sit on and get comfortable for a couple ofnreasons. He finds it easier to write on comfortable spaces (even though he has an office dedicated to it) and he feels more happy when he's sat somewhere he feels comfortable. Near enough every nook in the house has been turned into some large sitting area because of this.
