Got around to visiting Baonanas in the East Village and got the classic OG flavor (their signature vanilla mousse with layers of fresh bananas and softened wafers) and the ube flavor with cheesecake bites on top of the banana pudding flavors!

“Jan. 2016: Trisha & Lloyd juggle the newly formed Baonanas LLC with their college classes. #Baonanas is enjoyed at pop-ups, cafes, & coffee shops and markets/events.” The second piece of a mural I did for @baonanas . This illustration was really fun because it was the first time I was drawing so much of their product and flavors, and at the time it was a completely different style for me. "Four years ago I was in a car accident. Fortunately I didn't get hurt, but we needed about a thousand bucks for repairs. My fiance Trisha and I were in college at the time and we were dead broke, so she had this idea to sell her rendition of banana pudding to get the funds. She's a killer in the kitchen, and she had this simple recipe for it that used whipped cream and leche flan instead of boxed Jell-O. So we bring it to IG using the hashtag #baonanas and it just blew up. People loved it, and we were able to raise double what we needed in just 4 weeks. Shortly after, I quit my part-time job and decided to go all-in. I told my parents that I'd be holding off my last semester in college to do this business full-time, and luckily they were way cooler about it than I thought they'd be. So we get into catering with Smorgasbord, and after a few months we get all this press with BuzzFeed and Thrillist, and that just takes our business to another level. I think a lot of people can get caught up sometimes in their definition of happiness. But for me, it's been so important to make that definition as simple as possible for myself.
