I have been watching oitnb for probably 10 years now which is the longest I have ever taken for a show (and I still have 1 season to go). and the weirdest thing is, it's not bc I dislike the show in any way, I actually really enjoy it, but it's somehow one of the most exhausting things to watch, mostly bc there is so much plot condensed into a time frame of like a few days to a few months at max. I personally am not a fan of this bc I like 1 season = 1 year, but me watching this show so slowly is mostly due to the fact that I have to be in a very specific mood to handle it. I don't quite know why, but it's similar for me with got (even though I'm clearly more often in the mood for that than oitnb).

anyway, very long prologue for wanting to say that season 6 was great, probably my favorite so far, next to season 2 I think. I only didn't enjoy the one with vee (was that season 3?) too much, but I generally liked all of them for different reasons. and season 7 is said to be one of the best overall tv show seasons, so I'm excited for that.

I particularly liked 6 bc the plot was very organized in the sense that we had a premise from about episode 2 onwards and there was a conclusion at the end (even though it was different than expected and I loved that it was for once an almost happy ending). I personally loved carol and barb, it was such wonderful dark humor, and the little 80s flashbacks were a treat. the other minor characters like the new (esp alvarez giving autistism rep) and the old guards (esp the mormon one) were great as well (not as in nice people neccessarily, but they made a great backdrop) and generally none of the new characters felt forced and I'm glad they will all return next season. and who thought caputo and fig would be the cutest couple of the season?? I also liked alex and piper, but I was so certain piper was gonna do something stupid again and mess up her early release. but yay she did it!

it's also worth mentioning that there were some really sad and dark things again that were really well done, like daya's abuse, the trial around taystee, and flores' deportation at the end. oitnb is just one of the few shows that ace dramedy so perfectly by balancing hilarious and devastating scenes.

Just finished season 6 of OITNB so here are some random thoughts. Just gonna put it under a cut in case spoilers (which I doubt cause this has been out for 5 years lol) but also for those who don’t care and just want to easily scroll by :)

• Carol and Barb were much more interesting than any of the new characters they introduced. Part of me wishes they were still gonna be in season 7, but another part of me is fine with them not being in it, because what would they have done with them/how would they have been utilized in a way we haven’t already seen? Also, their entire flashlacks/backstory could’ve been a movie. That whole scene where they murdered their sister was so messed up, I keep thinking about it from time to time since I watched it. As always, so impressed with the casting of the younger and older selves looking alike.

• What they did to Blanca was so cruel!!! The only time I teared up this season!!

• I liked when the scenes were juxtaposed to show the inequality and unfairness of the Justice system with Piper and Taystee (Piper getting released early when she originally wasn’t going to, compared with Taystee being found guilty of a murder she didn’t commit.) I feel so bad for Taystee and I’m so glad Caputo tried to help her. I hope he keeps fighting and the guy that actually killed Piscatella goes down.

• Nicky is still my favorite. I need more of her and Red. However I don’t really like how they wrote Red this season? Like she acted so brashly when she attacked Frieda and it’s like I get it, Frieda threw Red under the bus, but she chose to attack Frieda for stealing 10 years of her life she could have spent with her grandkids…right before she was going to visit her grandkids.

• If “Badison” is in season 7 I really do not think I will not watch. Or at least mute her scenes. Out of all the prisoners on this show I could always name at least one redeeming/positive thing about them, or at least tolerate their screen presence. I could not do either of those things for Badison. Every time she was on screen I wanted to start clawing at the wall like a feral cat. No offense to the actress, but please don’t make me look or hear her ever again.

Undetailed case pt.3

Pairing-Carol denning x reader

You had been selling for carol now for a month land everything was going good carol kept an eye on you and you felt her eyes on you, after another month she had invited you over to her table which you found out she didn’t do to often

“Up inmates!” You quickly got of your bunk just to see carol getting up “(y/l/n) apparently were getting new cookie’s so I’m giving you and badison the job of breaking them in” you looked at her confused “break them in?” Carol looked into your eyes and said “yeah rough em up a bit scare them make sure they follow the rules” you looked at her and said “sure thing”

It was still breakfast when some of the cookies arrived you looked up and seen that they were looking around shocked as the guard assigned them to their cell you assumed they were from that riot that went down in minimum security

Some of them looked around and some of them went to their cell as you were about to go back to eating you heard the gate open once more and saw badison standing their and a guard went up to her and said she was being assigned to a new cell she laughed and said “aw I don’t get to be with baby killer anymore” in a baby voice

you seen carol stand up and say “don’t do the baby voice you know I hate it” then badison said “yeah sorry carol” that made you giggle a bit but to yourself because you wondered how someone like badison could be scared of carol

Badison started coming over to you and said “hey druggie how about we sort these cookies out huh” you looked at her and said “sure why not” with a smirk on your face and went into the library to see some cookies badison went up to them and pulled one of their hairs and said the rules to them and when you were done with them they ran out in tears

“Now that was fun”
