Hi friend do you have any Charles/Erik fic recommendations of a gentle variety? I watched the First Class era recently and am just….a lil broken up Re:: the pain of Charles losing his best friend and his sister at the same time… and then bottling up that pain for as long as he could until “you took her away and you left me!”

Okay, nonnie! I've got a few here that may interest you. Now, I'm a big fan of hurt/comfort fics, so I can't promise anything too gentle, unfortunately. 😅 (Most of my bookmarks are hella dark apparently) Anyway! Ill list you some I recently read, and mostly remember.

How Still My Love by Regann

"A mysterious sleeping disease, three loyal guardians, and a friend-turned-foe with unclear motives. It might sound like something out of a fairy tale but it's life after Cuba in the Xavier manor for what's left of the so-called X-Men. When Charles can no longer lead them, it's up to Hank, Alex and Sean to figure out a way to protect their mentor, especially once Erik comes seeking an audience. (Variously nicknamed "the Fairytale Fix-it," "Snow Charles and the Three Wishes," and "Alex feels via Charles/Erik." All three are pretty accurate.)"

This one I highly recommend, it's so cute, and the way the author played with fairy tales is fun. Fair warning tho, Erik doesn't stay at the end of this fic. But Charles' heart is a bit more mended.

This one is a time travel fic. Basically young child age Charles, Raven, and Erik replace their older counterparts. The kids build a close friendship real quick, and I believe it's ongoing.

Another Like Me by Ad_astrah

It's 1950, young Charles is getting his powers under control. He meets Erik, 19 years old, who's tracking down Nazis and killing them. They go on a little adventure together.

For requests for your drawings, I would love some Hercules: The Legendary Journeys fanart if you don’t mind sidesteps from your own lovely Heracles and Iolaus.❤️If you want specific ideas, how about either some back-to-back fight pose, or Iolaus grabbing Herc’s shirt front to pull him down to a more manageable kissing height. Or whatever, I’m not picky when it comes to these two.

do you have a favorite friendship/romance pairing in hardy boys?

Favorite friendship is definitely Joe and JB, leaning towards shipping older!Joe and JB for fanfic reasons. Ummmm, other than that, I'm not sure, probably Fenton and Laura had a great relationship and tragic end. If Drew didn't end up being crazy I would have probably shipped her with Joe too. 🤔

Is it fair for Spirk fans hate Spock/Chapel more than Spock/Uhura

Spirk fans were not so kind to spock/uhura but they seem to hate spock/chapel a lot more and I think I can understand why.

spock/uhura was an alternate reality and did not violate canon.

AOS Uhura is not too far removed from TOS Uhura unlike SNW Chapel where it is clear they have completely changed her entire character so the audience can find it believable why spock will love her.

let's face it, Chapel in TOS was not necessarily preped up as a hot sexy confident action blonde that SNW portrays and i think these robs spirk fans the wrong way because this is Chapel and we already know who she is.

Spock/Uhura in AOS did not take up too much screen time and did not have Spock acting out of character. I was thinking off star trek beyond and I have more respect for AOS Spock and how he deals with his love life. When he said he was going to call things of with uhura, he planned to sit down and discuss it with her of his need to be with a vulcan woman unlike SNW Spock who jumps in bed with chapel after he and Tpring go on a break.

I think Spirk fans dont like that Spock is written like a teenager from riverdale and Chapel has been retcon way too much.

This are just my thoughts, spock/chapel seem to be getting torns of hate more than spock other het ship and I feel it is deserved.

mmm, I don't really have a stake in the debate, nonnie! Though I don't really know how much hate Chapel/Spock is getting. I heard Uhura/Spock got way more hate, but that could just be an exaggeration.

Honestly I loath AOS Spock, and love the characterizations of all SNW characters. And believe SNW will easily become TOS Spock. And love what they've done to Chapel's character. Given her much more depth than her TOS counterpart, but keeping to her canonical crush. She's no mary sue, she's just as badass as the rest of the female characters they've created. This isn't the first time Trek has given their female characters more badass traits either, you know? This isn't the 1960s anymore, women are allowed to be something other than unrequited crush, or love interest. Her previous characterization was outdated and desperately needing of change.

From my point of view, Chapel's upgraded image just gives her more agency and has less to do with Spock. And Spock... well I don't think he loves her. I think he loves the idea of her. Because right now he isn't in love with the idea of being Vulcan. He tried an engagement, more Vulcan duty, but it conflicts with whatever he wants in life. So now he's going the exact opposite route. He's young and he's exploring what being half vulcan - half human means to him. And whatever he's seeing, he doesn't accept. So he'll smile more, not cause he's happy, but cause he's supposed to be normal. It's got nothing to do with him loving Chapel.

I don't think the hate is valid tho, I mean, I do hate the ship. LMAO. But to harp on people who enjoy it, or be afraid of SNW erasing Spock's intimate relationship with Kirk is silly. It's not what's going on. And the backlash is mostly from fear because people can't see the characterization that SNW is going for. Spock will become TOS Spock. Chapel will become TOS Chapel (at least in terms of her romantic feelings for Spock). This isn't the first time Spock has had a girlfriend, a love interest (Just watch some TOS episodes, you'll find them. I don't personally care for them. lmao). It will pass, and his relationship with Jim will be just as amazing as it's always been.
