I had this brainrot in my head all week. Just two cuties dancing an allemande (???)
yeah she's dancing in her stays, don't worry about it, I assume they're alone or James wouldn't have indulged this side of himself I've decided that he has
I referenced this vid on youtube, which was an excerpt from something called Dancing Through Time. In my brief and poorly-educated searches on baroque dance, I came across two different ideas about what it was - a much simpler and less touchy-feely dance, and the one I linked above, which appears to be the 18th century version of grinding on the dance floor swing and actually looks like a lot of fun.

So what did dancing look like in the days when Mircalla, Countess Karnstein was (first) human? This 1695 dance is English, from Thomas Playford’s book Dancing-Master, but I could believe that given 3 years’ time it might have migrated to Austria.
(Also I learned this last night and it’s so much fun.)
Georgian January Day 5: Travels
I have to say that my adulthood sucks and I haven’t had a proper vacation since like 2017 or 2018, and for 2020 I had a Paris travel planned but well, the apocalypse happened, and honestly this year does not look any better travel wise. BUT it seems to be the right time to plan a good travel, and one of my dream ones is going to the Fêtes Galantes at Versailles and have a great time while dancing in costume. And maybe be able to take one or two great Baroque Dance classes. Now I just need a couple of good friends, great costumes and, let’s be honest, a perfect excel sheet!
