Y'all. Y'all who was going to tell me that the Bartimaeus trilogy is a honest-to-god slept-upon series. Holy shit. Just finished reading Ptolemy's Gate.... y'all I am never recovering. Never. I have so much to say but I will have to scream about it another time. 10/10 would definitely recommend, please let the fandom revive and bring with it copious amounts of fanart and aus.

for no reason in particular i think greedling fans need to check out the bartimaeus trilogy by jonathan stroud if they haven't already. there's corrupt government. the resident nonhuman with an ego the size of the sun gets attached but will he tell you that? no. the human is more of an ass than ling is but also ironically does have a position of authority. one or both of them have questionable senses of fashion depending on which of the two idiots you ask. there are certain events in book 3 i am legally not able to disclose because spoilers. (but. just saying. if you like episode 28/chapter 54 onward, there may be plot events for you!)

also if you like desert shenanigans in fma. there is SO much fucking desert in the prequel. also there's a girl who can kick your ass in the main series. and the human and nonhuman's asses. and my ass, too, probably, if i gave her the shot. and i'd probably deserve it.

just. if you need a good book series that will change you fundamentally as a person, while also making you relive the epic highs and lows of greedling and fma/fmab, i am absolutely begging you to check out the bartimaeus trilogy. i know of at least three people counting me that have gone feral over greedling AND bartimaeus and nathaniel.

The nature of Jonathan Stroud's various Boy-Girl Pairings Who Are Maybe Attracted to each other is that:

Nathaniel and Kitty are very attracted to each other but would only properly get together once Nathaniel realises he has some kind of gender situation going on, which could take years to happen.

Lockwood and Lucy think they've successfully achieved An Unspoken Thing between them. They have not, and they need to start kissing on the regular otherwise they'll both start chewing furniture.

Scarlett and Albert have been in a stable, functional QPR for two years. Albert noticed this within a few weeks. It took Scarlet 18 months. They have never discussed this with anyone or each other.
