the correct way to interpret bartolo and marcellina i feel is that marcellina has just finally realized she's a lesbian with adhd at the ripe young age of 54 and bartolo is her kinda mopey drag-along who's somewhere between crowfeather warriorcats (Derogatory) and henry higgins myfairlady (Said with the curiosity of throwing a wet sock in a wind tunnel). she is blatantly using him for his money and he knows it and also cant really do anything about it. hes pacing around going WOE IS ME FOR MY MISTAKES IN LIFE MEAN I AM TRAPPED IN A LOVELESS MARRIAGE (no sympathy given.) meanwhile shes at golden corral on a lesbian date using her husbands DiscoverCard to buy everyone in the building another round of dipping random shit in the chocolate fountain. in this, i believe
