(Grand ordered the construction of Lab 5, chapter 52)
That's interesting. Before Ishval/in the early Ishval days, Grand was a Colonel, while afterwards, when it talks about him being in charge of research at the labs, he was a Brigadier General.
So, did he retain the same responsibilities in his promotion? Or I guess he continued in the same area but might have been given more responsibilities - that makes sense.
And then Lab 5. When was that built? If Grand ordered it made, you have to assume he's in on the making of the Philosopher's Stones - that's too integral to that lab to ignore. That means Grand is a part of the whole conspiracy.
Was he part of it all when he shot Brigadier General Fessler in Ishval for ordering the deaths of the Ishvalans who wanted to speak with the Fuhrer about a truce? Did he shoot Fessler for his own personal greed ("Seems like I could get away with it now."), or because he thought at this rate someone would do it and it was the best way to guarantee the conspiracy had continued leadership?
Or did he only come on board after Ishval? And the stones were made elsewhere before, but they were still trying to churn more of them out?
The idea of the conspiracy members turning on each other for greater glory is ... insidious. And very, very interesting.
