i live!! after many months of mindless servitude (studying) to the state (school) and present: edward elric and the case of a too well informed bastard

this scene actually has such wild lore I thought of as an fmab au while drawing it that i had to write down to not lose it. but it's flaming trash for now so it'll stay a mystery until i get to actually writing it.

the inspiration was that i was reading gachiakuta (it's fire go read it.) and the outfits and the art really reminded me of fma fashion which can't be more different, but both share that spark that makes some mangakas outfits pop. and that reminded me how fucking cool is the design for the military uniform and obviously mustang is the only correct choice for maximizing additional medals and smug expressions.

one thing i'll never get is WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THOSE DAMNED COAT TAILS??? there's no pockets on them, they don't conceal any weapons and they're basically a waste of fabric. i respect it in the name of fashion but it still bothered me enough to cut the uniform off before they began.

(and because i have no self control: the au that is the context for this art is a philosophers stone/homunculus-ed au, with changes to when hohenheim began his family with trisha. hint: ed and al are significantly more golden in this au)

I am so unmotivated to draw. Like anything. I've lost my spark for a lot of my hobbies.. I made this after i got frustrated with the one commission imm working on. I feel stuck on this commission.. I'm getting it done slowly but it feels like I'm doing it all wrong and i feel awful for it..
