I love this piece but I think Sibelius gets a sick joy out of torturing bassoonists

Y'all ever trying to make an awful bassoon reed function, but the wire breaks, so you're just SOL until you can go buy more wire?
I know my desk is a disaster.
i’m currently on a long train journey in china so i made this
This happens way to often
Our music director keeps asking me to ‘promote the bassoon’ in assemblies
So I made an infomercial for bassoons.
TIRED OF HIGH-PITCHED WOODWIND INSTRUMENTS THAT SOUND LIKE CRAP? PLAY THE BASSOON INSTEAD!
IT HAS TEN THUMB KEYS AND STILL SOUNDS LIKE CRAP BUT PLEASE LEARN IT BECAUSE NO ONE ELSE WANTS TO.
Today my bassoon teacher asked me to, and I quote, ‘shove the bassoon down the throat of anyone willing to play it’.
So here’s a gentle reminder:
LEARN THE BASSOON OR ELSE I WILL FIND YOU AND I WILL MAKE YOU PLAY IT
During a rehearsal for our piece for the concert, the director stopped and asked “Where’s {bassoon player}?” And one of the other bassoonists just shouts “She broke her bassoon!” She returns ten minutes later with ANOTHER BASOON and goes “It’s fine, I had a spare.”
Why were you carrying around A SPARE BASSOON?
No one knows what a bassoon is
Here’s a short list of things people have called my bassoon
An oboe
A tuba
‘You know, the long big things’
The ‘farty noise maker’
‘Big fat bass thing’
*imitates cargo ship*
A didgeridoo
I mean, calling it an oboe is bad enough, but a DIDGERIDOO.
