I've been thinking about King sharing the video on the office group chat, especially since it's not how it happens in the book. I was really taken aback by that decision. But this, together with King going after Uea's stepfather, needs to be considered in a wider social context. They took a brave detour from what happens in the novel to say something important (which we all still deal with even in the most open and progressive corners of the world).

I believe this is meant to open a few eyes as well as the discussion about harassment in Thai society, both in the work place and in the home.

The fact that you would need to provide such graphic proof or else no one would believe it is really saying something.

One more thing is I think it's important to notice two things:

1. that they took the opportunity to show how to not victim blame by showing how no one is blaming Uea after watching the video.

2. The conversation they have with the stepfather's other victim in the preview - what she says, and the fact that she is a woman and not another man.

Again, this show (together with other brave Thai bls) giving us me so much more than I expected.

Oh, and Uea finally getting some peace after realizing he's not the root of all evil.

Man, when was the last time I drew THIS handsome devil?

I'm assuming most of my newer followers don't know this guy. This is Antasma, the main villain of Mario and Luigi: Dream Team, and my favorite villain ever. He's been a huge inspiration for me and I used to draw him ALL the time.

I may not be as obsessed with Mario as I was back then, but I still adore this nightmare king of bats. I even wrote a fanfiction series about him and Fawful! One of these days, I'll get back to writing Spirals and Wings, one day.
