The more we suspect || Bianca & Mateo

Bianca had received the call that morning; funnily enough, she had been just about to head over to the sheriff's office herself to ask them if they had anymore leads. No doubt she was annoying the poor officers over at Swynlake PD, but as her own investigation continued to turn up nothing, she was relying on them - hoping, really - to discover the truth.
The Director had told her to stop looking as it was - he would have the London agents look into it, because Bianca herself was too close, in his opinion. It stung. It made her feel even more useless than she already was; she had other things she could be doing, of course, other wards under her care, the research she was doing for Goliath, and there were still Merlin's objects scattered everywhere that she should, in theory, be making more of an effort to look for.
But none of it felt important. She had to figure out what had happened to Peach, or she had failed completely.
Bianca wasn't sure if she was allowed to see the suspect or not, but she knew she was going to; she had tricks up her sleeve, if they wouldn't take her to the holding cell themselves. As it happened, though, she only needed to turn on the waterworks just a little to get the office at the front desk to crumble, giving a little nod before he led her off through the door to the rest of the station. Bianca had gone through it before, of course, to give her statement and whatnot; she could've just snuck in sometime later. But trying to do things legitimately was always better, if you could.
She came to a slow stop in front of the cell, her eyelashes still a little damp; maybe it would be good to put on a show.
"I'm not really, uh-- I shouldn't leave you." The officer began, but Bianca shot him a look; the teary eyes really were good. She looked at the suspect, crease forming between her brows as she frowned; he looked... ordinary. Just as ordinary as her, or the officer shuffling from one foot to the other behind her. It didn't sit right with Bianca, but maybe-- well. Maybe it was all so simple. Maybe there was no mystery to at all.
No doubt he had been questioned already; no doubt Bianca wouldn't be privy to any of those details. "Did you know my niece?" She asked him, voice steady, for now. She would need to keep it that way to do a little digging of her own.
