absolute batman #5 (2025) / batman: zero year (2013)
Itty bitty baby Duke
ugggg in the bruce wayne amnesia era and its such a shame damian doesn't interact with him (or with alfred) about it because alfred is convinced bruce has to be free of all his traces of his past life as batman to be happy but most of bruce's kids (all of them really) only are his kids because of bruce's life as batman. their connection to him is via batman.
and most of them are adults, but Damian's not. he's eleven. got to come home and find out that you can't tell your dad anything about you because it's viewed as something that would inherently ruin his happiness.
Batman (2011) Issue #30
Young Duke sighting, look at him.

Summary:
“Look out the window.” His mom points outside to the purple and green of Gotham, the question marks filling the sky. “A madman is controlling the whole city. We have a lot more problems than this kid wanting to be a boy.” (Duke Thomas Week 2026 fic for the prompts: community, trans Duke, pre-Robin, and Zero Year! Focuses on short scenes of Duke at 11ish solving puzzles, transing his gender, and changing his name while trying to take down the Riddler.)
Continuity: New 52 Era: Modern Age (1985–now) Comic/Comic arc: Batman: Zero Year, Batman: Endgame Main Characters: Duke Thomas Main Relationships: n/a Comment: Submitted by @Chickadee-znuts.
It is pretty exhausting to read a comic when every single story is like all of Gotham is in peril. No cooldown stories in between? No 1 or 2-issue arcs?
I like it when people portray Alfred as very touchy and careful about Martha and Wayne, not daring to even joke about them in fanon. Because he genuinely doesn't give a fuck in canon
