To say the least, Arthur was always overbearing and protective of you. You always said it was the perks of being a little sister. Sometimes those ‘perks’ became more of ‘pains’ though. This was a perfect example of a ‘pain’.
Of course, Arthur had always scared away any man that even glanced at you, but when Bruce started flirting with you he had no idea about the storm of a big brother you had. Arthur didn’t go straight to Bruce since you had mentioned to him previously how the two of them needed to get along in order for the Justice League to actually work. Instead, he came to you.
“I think Batboy likes you,” He snarled, crossing his arms across his chest and leaning against the desk you currently sat at.
“Nah,” You hummed absent-mindedly as you continued your work. The truth was, you knew damn-well Bruce was flirting with you. You didn’t want Arthur to know.
“Yes,” He gripped the back of your chair and spun it around so you would face him.
“So what if he does?” You said, crossing your arms, “It’s none of your business,”
“I’d be okay if it was any other guy, but it’s- it’s,” He ran his fingers through his hair, frustrated, “him,”
“No, Arthur, no matter who it is you’ll never be okay with me being with someone,” You stood up from your chair quickly, “Forget about it, okay?”
You left the room before he could respond. You hated arguing with him, but he could be so... controlling sometimes. Why couldn’t he just let you live your own life?
What if you had actually wanted Bruce to flirt with you?
Stuck in your thoughts, you didn’t notice where you were going and quickly ran into the corner of a wall.
“Where did that come from?” You mumbled, rubbing your now-bruised arm.
“It’s always been there,”
Speak of the devil.
“Bruce,” You smiled as you watched him lean casually against the wall.
“Have you always been the clumsy?” He laughed, watching you rub your arm again.
You laughed nervously and shrugged.
“It’s okay, it’s cute,”
A blush spread across your face and you looked down quickly.
“Thanks,” You mumbled.
“When we were kids she ran off the doc and broke her leg,”
You turned around startled to see that your brother was back.
“Arthur,” You warned, glaring at him.
“What? I can’t join in?” He cast you an innocent look before glancing at Bruce, who shifted awkwardly under Arthur’s stare.
“Could you, like, go away?” You mumbled angrily.
“Yea I’ll leave once Batboy here promises he won’t hurt you,”
Hurt me?
You had to admit, this caught you off guard.
“Why would I hurt her?” Bruce asked, glancing over at your also-confused expression.
“I can’t believe I’m saying this,” Arthur mumbled, looking down at you, “Just don’t break her heart or anything, okay?”
Your heart swelled in your chest. He had finally decided to not parent you anymore.
“I wouldn’t,” Bruce said, sharing a mutual smile with your brother.
“I’ll leave you two alone,” Arthur said as he threw up some awkward finger guns.
You watched him leave you and Bruce to stand in awkward silence.
“Sorry about him,” You mumbled, looking anywhere but at him.
“It’s okay,” Bruce said laughing, “I’ve never had an older sibling before, so I can’t imagine what it’s like,”
Damian one day decided to snoop around the library, he was bored and was grounded from patrolling due to him trying to escape the manor at night and getting caught.
He went to the back section, he rarely ever went this far. He pulled out a few books hopping for one to trigger open a secret passage way, much to Damian’s dismay a white letter fluttered out. Damian scrunched his eyebrows in confusion but quickly picked up the decaying letter, it had a slight yellow tinge but the letter seemed to have never been opened.
He ripped open the letter pulling out the paper inside.
'Dear my beloved Bruce, I decided to run away from my family. They have always dictated my life and actions, but you taught me to think freely, to let go. They don’t approve of us and planned to send me away, but I will not let them do so. I thank you for teaching me this way of free thoughts, I will not tell you where I’m going but I do know one thing, we will meet again if we are meant to be. Love, Y/N’
Damian’s eyes widened after reading the letter, he quickly ran out the library note still in hand. He rushed to the living room where he heard the familiar voices of his bickering brothers.
“No Jason you just can’t-”
“GRAYSON!” Damian cut Dick off and quickly handed him the letter, the boys huddled around him reading over his shoulder.
“Who’s Y/N?” Tim asked snatching the letter out of Dick’s grasp.
“I have no idea, does Bruce just have a bunch of secret relationships and more spawns of his running around that we aren’t aware about?” Jason snatched the paper out of Tim’s hold while Damian glared at him.
“Y/N?” Alfred was eavesdropping on their conversation.
“Who is she?” Damian questioned the butler. “She was Bruce’s first girlfriend, his first everything. He was madly in love wit her but her parents didn’t approve of her dating a Wayne son, they wanted her to marry into another higher class family to seal some deals.” Alfred sat down on the couch over looking the letter.
“Master Bruce became devastated after her disappearance he never really loved ever again, I don’t think he ever got over her.”
“Do you know what this means?” Dick clapped his hands in excitement, “No, I don’t.” Jason said sarcastically.
“We need to find this Y/N person! To make Bruce have an actual Valentine.” Tim rolled his eyes, “We don’t even know anything else but her name.”
“Her name is Y/N Y/L/N, I wish you all luck.” Alfred walked out as the boys began to scheme.
•••
“Are sure this is her?” Jason quirked his eyebrow, “Well she seemed elated when we mentioned Bruce, I’m hopping she is.” Tim answered as they waited for Bruce to come.
“Why are you all calling me? Did Damian stab Jason again?” Just as Bruce walked in asking questions the door was knocked. Dick ran over and opened the door revealing a mature women with a warm smile on her face.
“It’s been a long time Bruce.” She smirked as Bruce’s jaw dropped.

This was it. This was the end. You moaned dramatically. The amount of pain you felt was incomparable. You didn’t know how much more you could fight it.
You had a cold.
“Would you stop being so dramatic?” Bruce leaned over you as you laid in bed, placing his hand over your forehead to check for a fever.
“I feel disgusting,” You mumbled nasally.
Bruce felt bad for you, even if you were overreacting. He kneeled next to the bed and brushed your hair out of your face so he could see you better.
“Is there anything you need from me?” He asked, holding your face softly.
“Can you stay with me?” You asked pathetically, reaching toward him.
“Then I would get sick,”
“You’re supposed to care more about me than getting sick,” You crossed your arms grumpily over your chest.
He laughed and leaned down to kiss your forehead before crawling underneath the covers next to you.
“You know I care about you,” He mumbled, pulling you into his side, “I love you more than anything,”
You felt yourself start to drift to sleep as you listened to him, too weak to respond. A few moments of silence passed.
“I want you to stay with me for the rest of my life,”
“That sounds like a proposal,” You giggled groggily.
“Well that would make me a pretty shitty boyfriend if I proposed to you like that,” He said, “It’ll be better than just that, I promise,”
“And when should I expect that,” You were more awake now and moved aside so you could see him.
“Very soon,” He said, leaning down to kiss you but you pushed him away quickly.
“I don’t want you to get sick,” You said, still keeping your distance.

“You know, it’s hard loving you sometimes,”
It hit you hard, like a truck. It was something you had been told before, but different. You trusted him. Trusted that he wouldn’t be like the others. You were drowning in emotions but couldn’t let him see. Quickly, you ran out of the house you had shared with him for so long and ran.
The two of you were in the middle of an argument that had turned more sour than you could ever predict. Deep down, you knew he didn’t mean it. He was just angry. Hearing him say that hurt you more than anything, though.
Everywhere you looked was field. You had nowhere to go. Collapsing in the tall grass, you broke down crying. Part of you wanted him to run after you and hold you while you forgave him instantly. The other part of you wanted to punch his face in the next time you saw him.
You couldn’t forgive and forget when he had hurt you as bad as he did. As bad as he knew others did. You were a liability. No matter where you went, a burden.
Another wave of tears rushed through you and you sobbed into your hands.
You felt a hand on your back and quickly pulled away upon seeing him.
He mumbled your name softly and you felt yourself melt. You wanted him to hold you, to love you like he always did.
“How could you?” You said, wiping your face with your sleeve in an attempt to stop crying.
His mouth hung open, unable to say anything.
“You know me better than anyone, Bruce,” You said his name so sourly, you hated it when it came out, “Why would you say that to me?”
“I was angry, I-“
“I don’t want excuses,” Another wave of tears came and you were unable to hold them back. You covered your face with your hands and sobbed into them again.
Immediately you felt his comforting embrace around you. You were too weak to push him away. You wanted him there to hold you anyway.
“I’m sorry,” He mumbled, pulling you into his lap, “I’m so sorry,”
You started to regain yourself as he held you and quickly wiped your face with your sleeve again.
“Why would you say it if you didn’t mean it?” You whispered, unable to keep yourself from leaning into him.
“I was angry,” He said again, “Haven’t you ever said something you don’t mean when you’re angry?”
“You’re a dick,” You were truly mad at him, but couldn’t bring yourself to pull away. Instead, you buried your face into the crook of his neck.
“I love you more than anything,” He mumbled into your hair. The truth was, he didn’t know what to say. He was sorry, even if you didn’t believe him.
a/n: wow I wanted fluff but this came out?? Writing is weird...
Summary: Wayne Manor gets broken into while Bruce is gone and the reader is taken hostage.
Request: @sincerelyfan :
Can i have something where during a mission with the League (the league after Clark returns), someone powerful invades the Wayne Mansion and attacks Alfred and y/n, and when everyone comes back, Bruce finds y/n laying on floor with a pool of her own blood around her? Thank youuuu 💜
Author’s Note: I hope you like this! Sorry it took a bit to finish, I just finished writing a ten-page paper for my English 102 class and honestly it was super hard to get back into writing for fun. -Kelsie

You loved Wayne Manor more than anything. You would even go as far as saying it was your favorite place on Earth. Bruce had installed new security since you had moved in though... three separate times. You told him he was being paranoid and he said he had the money for it so it wasn’t a big deal. He went out of his way to make it the safest place for you to live.
Your guys’ relationship was kept private in fear of someone finding out who he was and using you against him. You didn’t mind if it meant being with him, though you barely were. He was constantly on missions with the League and this soon became your main stressor. You thought he overworked himself, constantly being in dangerous situations. He claimed he was fine and what he did was easy, but you knew it had some sort of a toll on him.
Ever since Clark came back, the League had many meetings at the manor. You didn’t mind much since they were your friends, but you couldn’t tell if you liked there being people home all the time. Mostly it was just you and Alfred.
That’s what it was like now. You and Alfred sat across the table from each other in the slowly-dimming dining room. The sun set slowly outside as you mindlessly read your book. In the back of your mind, the thought of Bruce getting hurt on his mission tugged at you, as it always did when he was gone. He assured you before he left that he’d be home safe before dinner, but dinner had passed and he still wasn’t.
“He got caught up,” Alfred tried reassuring you, “He’ll come soon,”
You couldn’t help but worry though.
The dim room you sat in became almost pitch black when the chandelier above suddenly went out. The only light came from a single ray of sun still peeking above the horizon, tinting the room pink.
“Power outage?” You asked as you watched Alfred try to switch it back on.
“Impossible,” He mumbled, reaching into the next room and switching it’s switch, “This one’s out too,”
You could sense his growing nerves and clutched your book to your chest tightly.
“What is it?” You whispered.
“I don’t want to seem paranoid,” He started, “If the power’s out, it means security’s off,”
A loud crash sounded from the floor below and Alfred quickly rushed to your side.
“We need to leave,” He said as he grabbed your arm. He pulled you toward the front door quickly, fumbling for his phone at the same time. You quickly opened the door for him, but someone was waiting on the front step.
You screamed, startled, and attempted to close the door but the man stopped it with his foot. Alfred grabbed your arm once more, pulling you away from the door. You could hear ringing coming from the phone in his hand.
Before the two of you could attempt to leave, the man outside quickly stepped in as he held a gun out in front of him.
“Drop the phone,” He said, pointing it at Alfred.
Alfred slowly lowered and set it on the floor.
“Hello?” You could hear Bruce’s voice on the line, “Alfred what is it?”
The man quickly shot the phone and you jumped away, startled. Suddenly you felt something being held against your back and a different man started ushering you toward the living room.
“If you do anything stupid, I’ll shoot,” He whispered into your ear, “It’s a shame, you sure are pretty,”
He sat you down in a chair and quickly tied you to it. The first man did the same with Alfred.
“Who are you?” You asked. You could hear your heart pounding in your chest.
“Geniuses,” The first man said as he casually checked the rounds in his gun before cocking it again.
“How did you get in?” Alfred asked from your left.
“Your security system is weak online,” The second man smirked.
“You’re hackers,” You said, shocked. Some losers from the internet were able to break into your high-security home and hurt you? You began to get angry.
“You guys are nobodies,” You spat, struggling against your bonds.
The second man raised his gun quickly but you could tell his hand was shaking.
“Don’t,” The first man glared you, crossing his arms.
“Idiots,” You smirked, “Don’t you realize who’s house you broke into?”
“Bruce Wayne, billionaire, businessman,” The first man said.
“The richest man in Gotham,” The second added.
“You’re missing a small detail,” You said, “He’s also the Bat,”
The second man glanced quickly at the first, his shaking hand still pointing the gun at you.
“Don’t listen to her,” The first man said.
“I’m telling the truth,” You glanced over at him, “He’s probably on his way here now, considering Alfred called him,”
The first man's eyes widened, remembering the phone he shot just minutes ago.
“We can’t take that risk,” The second man said, raising his gun shakily to aim at you better, “Let’s destroy the evidence and get outta here,”
“Wait-“ The first man started. He quickly jumped back as the second man fired at you and the loud bang filled the tall room. At first, you didn’t feel anything. Then it got warm all around before a searing pain filled your abdomen.
You gasped quickly, leaning forward in an attempt to breathe. You could feel your lungs tightening in panic.
“This wasn’t the plan,” You could hear the first man say over the ringing in your ears. Struggling, you looked up as they quickly ran out of the house, leaving the front door wide open.
“y/n,” You faintly heard Alfred’s panicked voice next to you, “y/n stay awake,”
You couldn’t if you tried. Black spots had started to fog your vision and you felt yourself nodding off. Alfred was still talking, trying to help, but you couldn’t hear what he was saying. The pain was overwhelming. You didn’t know if you would pass out from the blood loss, pain, or both.
You didn’t know how much time had passed, it only felt like a few seconds to you, but you were quickly being untied. Without the bonds holding you to the chair, you started to fall forward, but were quickly caught.
“Bruce,” You mumbled, bringing a shaking hand up to him. You recognized his cologne.
“She was shot,” Alfred explained.
“By who?” Bruce quickly took his tie off, wrapping it around your torso in an attempt to stop the blood.
“It doesn’t matter,” You coughed, grabbing his arm weakly, “They don’t deserve that recognition,”
Bruce’s hands quickly worked at stopping the blood flow but you could tell it was too late.
“Bruce please,” You pulled his hands away and held them in yours, “Promise me you won’t let this ruin your life,”
“What?”
“Promise me,” You coughed again, “Don’t let this take over,” You knew how passionate he could be when it came to finding people and you didn’t want him to do that for you. It was already too late and revenge never satisfies.
Part of you was glad this was where you would die, at home surrounded by the ones you loved. Sure it was sudden, but it was home.
You heard Bruce say something but you couldn’t tell what. You slowly looked up at him. You’d never seen him cry before. You wanted to tell him you loved him but felt too weak to. Before you even got the chance to try, your vision blacked out. It was the end.
a/n: This was super edgy- sorry it took so long again! I wanted to make sure I could put my all in when I wrote it and I’ve been so busy lately.

During this time of the year, your bed was the coziest place on Earth. Surrounded by real fur blankets and holiday scented candles as jazzy Christmas music played in the background, you could stay there all day. At first, Bruce thought you were depressed. He realized he was wrong, though, when he brought it up and you became a giggly mess.
“I’m cozy,” You mused, snuggling deeper under your mound of blankets. The fireplace crackled softy across the room.
“You haven’t been out in five days,” He pressed, sitting on the edge of the bed.
“And what about it,” You peeked your head up so you could smirk at him and he laughed softly.
“Let me take you somewhere,” He said, standing suddenly.
“That would require getting up,” You frowned.
Bruce leaned over and started pulling the blankets off of you, despite your complaining.
“I promise I’ll keep you cozy still,” He said as he pulled the last blanket off.
“That would require a lot of hugs,” You teased.
“I think I can handle it,”
Before you knew it, you were up and out for the first time in nearly a week.
The streets of Gotham were covered in a thin layer of snow and twinkling lights hung in every store window. The chillness of the air made the normally-bustling town silent.
“Where are we going?” You asked, tugging at Bruce’s sleeve. He was walking briskly a few paces ahead and you struggled to keep up.
“Shopping,” He said, pulling out a piece of paper and handing it to you. On it was a list of names.
“Christmas gifts?” You assumed.
“I didn’t want to go alone,” He said.
“Well the city’s a dangerous place,” You joked, jogging slightly so you could reach his fast pace.
“Could you slow down?” You asked, panting slightly, “There’s no rush,”
He stopped dead in his tracks, causing you to bump into him. He gripped your shoulders with his gloved hands to keep you from falling.
“I want a hot chocolate,” You said, looking up at him. Despite being completely bundled up in several layers of clothing, you were still cold.
“I’ll get you one later,” He said, taking his list back from you.
“But I’m cold and you promised you’d keep me warm,” You frowned, crossing your arms.
He reached out and rubbed up and down both of your arms quickly in an attempt to warm you up.
“Did that help?”
“No,” You giggled, sniffing slightly.
“I don’t want you to get sick,” He said, pulling your coat tighter around your shivering frame.
“I want a hot chocolate,” You repeated, “with peppermint,”
“That won’t help,”
“It might,” You argued, pouting.
After a few more minutes of arguing you finally convinced him to stop at the nearest café before starting his shopping.
He reluctantly handed the barista a few dollars as you bounced excitedly at his side.
“I love you,” You said, hugging him from his side.
“You’re spoiled,” He said, pushing you away.
“Come on, don’t you love me too?”
“You know I do,” He said under his breath.
“Say it,” You said, clinging onto his side once more.
“I love you,” He pulled his arm out from your constricting hug and pushed you off again.
Once you got your hot chocolate you let the steam warm your face and hummed contently.
“Happy?” Bruce asked.
You smirked at him, and despite being grumpy, he smiled back.
“Come on,” He held his hand out for you to take.
“I love you,” You said again.
“I know,”
a/n: didn’t mean for that Star Wars reference at the end but whatever lmaooo. I enjoyed writing this!
