BRUCE WAYNE CENTRIC . . .

I portray Bruce as a single father by default. My Bruce panromantic & demisexual. He typically only develops crushes on friends and even then they are often one sided.

Depending on who I write with he may eventually have a romantic partner. My love interests for him include: Harvey & Two-Face (especially if the duo go on a redemption arc), Superman, Wonder Woman, J'onn, Hal Jordan, Constantine, and/or various founding members of the Justice League (I wasn't kidding when I said he tends to develop crushes on friends)

Although batcat is cute I adore @/clawsextended 's selina so much that I've decided to make it my default canon for my Bruce that he has a platonic soulmate connection with Selina instead of a romantic one. Bruce really said "let's go lesbians!"

My Bruce doesn't have bio children. He especially doesn't have a Damian bc there's no way he'd let anyone with the surname al Ghul date him (sorry Talia)

Bruce has a rocky relationship with his universe's Talia. Although he is thankful to have Jason back, he knows Jason wasn't brought back for his sake. He knows that the al Ghul's use and manipulate Jason -- a fact that makes him absolutely seethe with rage

Bruce was born left handed but trained himself to be ambidextrous. Despite being ambidextrous he makes a point to make Bruce Wayne to be right handed and Batman left handed. It's just another layer of security to ensure no one things Bruce = Batman. He also often uses his hidden ambidextrous talent to his advantage as Batman <3

As a conventionally attractive and rich man Bruce tends to get a lot of comments regarding his appearance. The hype for him is often fueled by news networks and social media

Unfortunately many of the comments he's gotten started when he was in middle school. People would make comments about how 'handsome' he was and how he was destined to be 'a lady killer.' These comments made him really uncomfortable. Around this time media forced the nickname of Brucie upon him. He hates the nickname Brucie.

The world made it clear that they expected at rich young man to frequent parties, be an adrenaline junky, and to go on a lot of casual dates. Bruce hates all of these things but as he became a vigilante played into the stereotypes so he would have a cover story.

Bruce is 5'7." His batsuit has a slight heel and the bat ears give him a few inches, making Batman appear to be 5'10".

Bruce is panromantic and demisexual. He is not a virgin but nevertheless doesn't have a high sex drive. He tends to develop crushes on close friends. He doesn't typically enjoy being touched by strangers (whether it be an a sexual or neutral manner).

Bruce has been sexually harassed both in interviews and in public. It's why he's so picky about who he lets interview him. Much to Gotham's frustration he typically prefers to have Lois or Clark interview him.

The public Bruce Wayne (Brucie -- although he doesn't call himself that because he hates the nickname. Those who wish to not be on his shit list do not call him Brucie either) is a CHARACTER. In public Bruce is an actor, playing a simplified and cliche version of himself. He hates doing it and his true personality can be seen in the personality of Batman.

Bruce by default is a single father. However many people he's close with such as Alfred and the founding members of the Justice League have helped him care for his kids.

If you're mean to kids and animals he will NOT date you.

My Bruce is open to poly relationships. In regards to canon x canon ships I am a fan of diana/bruce/clark, bruce/lois/clark, bruce/selina, bruce/selina/lois/clark, bruce/harvey, bruce/harvey/two-face, and bruce/j'onn.

I am open to canon x oc ships as well.

Because my Batman is typically depicted in the 45-60 age range I expect muses he's being written with in a romantic sense to be 40 or older.

The Waynes, who he was adopted by, were Jewish & taught him about Judiasm. because of this Bruce does have fond memories of celebrating holidays such as Hanukkah. However, having adopted him from Hong Kong his parents also wanted to help him maintain connections to his roots. Bruce also enjoys celebrating holidays such as Lunar New Year & the Mid-Autumn festival. He's also celebrated Christmas before.

I need to make a separate post about it but to make a long story short Bruce's experience with religion/spirituality/belief systems is pretty complicated. He's not sure if he'd really ever slap one specific label on himself.

BATMAN CENTRIC . . .

Batman's voice is Bruce's natural speaking voice (low & gravely). He has to pitch his voice higher/voice act in order to sound like the Bruce Wayne the public knows. (Yes he was a theater kid lol)

Bruce hates racist people but finds it amusing how many people assume Batman is white when he isn't. Catch him laughing about all of the who is Batman theories that include people that look NOTHING like him. You know there's at least one dumbass that thinks Tom Holland is him

Bruce has had crushes on a few JL members. No he will not give you this info willingly.

autistic and adhd bruce will always be special to me. The public version of Bruce is Bruce masking his behavior as well as him acting/playing into the wayward assumptions people make about him. The real Bruce -- Batman -- doesn't mask his behavior. Batman doesn't feign emotional facial expressions and doesn't force himself to be social when he doesn't want to be. Batman has adhd with a captial H and will get so hyperfixated on a case he has to set timers to remind himself to eat and go to bed. Also water timers are also a thing for him.

although the going rumor is that Batman doesn’t kill people, that is incorrect. He doesn’t kill often and when he does kill, he goes at great lengths to make sure no one knows that THE Batman is the killer

-another common misconception is that he fights crime. He fights injustice and strives for equity — it’s why he looks over some crimes such as stealing for survival, stealing from the rich to give to the poor, etc

Batman does, however, crack down heavily on crimes such as: weapons smuggling, human trafficking, s3x trafficking, drug smuggling, poaching, child abuse, animal abuse, mob/gang violence, domestic violence, serial killers, s3xual assault, and terrorism

he also often confronts corrupt police officers and politicians

Batman knows damn well that violence is the language of the oppressed. It's why that although he doesn't condone domestic terrorism (mass killings/serial killings, bombings, etc), he will turn a blind eye toward theft and rioting as long as the targets are major corporations. It's also why he protects protestors from police brutality.

Steal from the rich, give to the poor. Expose corruption and put corrupt officials on trial... And when trials fail you can scare them into behaving themselves. Batman doesn't kill often but he does beat the fear of death into those who deserve it : )

IMPORTANT DICK GRAYSON HEADCANON / PORTRAYAL NOTES

was adopted by bruce, his full name is technically richard grayson-wayne but he often shortens it to richard grayson bc otherwise his name feels a million years long

trans man who funnily enough has top surgery scars that look kind of like the bat symbol (even funnier is the fact that bruce's top surgery scars also look like the bat symbol)

in my batfam's official canon/story bruce doesn't let kids younger than middle school age go in the field with him. he does teach them self defense skills earlier than that however

that being said dick was never good at following rules and he made his own robin costume and snuck out multiple times stressing bruce the fuck out

bruce didn't adopt him immediately -- dick was put in an orphanage but didn't do well because the shock of his parents and a few other members of the circus getting murdered before his eyes left him anxious, prone to not sleeping and non-verbal. no one at the orphanage knew how to care for such a scared and traumatized kid so he was essentially neglected at the orphanage

unable to forget dick, especially since he was looking into his parents' murders, bruce ended up checking on dick and was horrified to find what conditions the boy was living in and took him home

dick quickly grew attached to alfred and bruce and they grew attached to him in turn. they helped him go to therapy, learn sign language and encouraged him to take his time in regards to finding his voice once again

the first time dick speaks again is when he has a nightmare that the same person who killed his bio parents kills alfred -- so his first words are a scream from waking up from said nightmare, calling for his dad to help him. bruce rushes into the room thinking there's an intruder and there isn't. the hug he gives dick is INCREDIBLE and dick melts into it

despite bruce's assurances dick continues to have nightmares and high anxiety unil bruce assures him batman is going after zucco

a sleep deprived bruce accidentally leaves a case file out regarding zucco, resulting in dick making his own diy costume and sneaking out to help batman catch zucco

they catch zucco but dick gets a pretty bad knife blade cut from zucco in the process on his left arm -- a scar he still has today

dick trains hard to join his own hero team at age 13 (this is where a lot of the young justice show influences come in for me)

dick is 16 when bruce takes in jason. jason is like a rough and tumble alley cat which somehow only makes him more lovable in dick's eyes

due to trauma jason is very hesitant with unfamiliar adults but bonds insanely fast with both dick and batman

it is jason's death, their disagreements on how the joker should be handled as well as bruce becoming extremely over-protective that leads to dick and bruce having their big falling out

my bruce attempts to kill joker multiple times and fails -- dick gets pissed that bruce hides his joker killing plans, making it impossible for dick to help him

despite their agruements dick is incredibly close to bruce, and the two share similar strengths and weaknesses, as well as sharing similar fears

dick was very very briefly a police officer but he realized that changing the system was impossible to do from within so he sought alternative means to help the citizens of gotham

he works as a social working, primarily working with at risk youth & the homeless, helping them get food, shelter & jobs, he also helps kids get safe foster & orphanage placements

he also sometimes teaches youth gymnastics lessons

has strong platonic ties to babs, kori, roy, donna, garth, superboy, etc (strong platonic ties to batfam + young justice + titans)

has been trained by clark and diana in addition to being trained by bruce

alternates between gotham and bludhaven bc even tho he loves the batfam he doesn't want to just inherit batman's hold on gotham -- he wants to establish his own brand of heroism as well

in my blog's canon he ends up in a happy poly relationship with kori and wally (and some verses even kori, wally, and artemis)

has romani heritage and I will keep him as having no live action fc until I find a suitable romani fc

bruce starts doing vigilante work at age 18, but doesn't go by 'batman' and have all of his cool tech until age 23

bruce acts as batman until roughly age 63, giving him a grand total of 40 years working as batman

at age 60, however, he trades his regular suit for a more well armored mech suit, kinda like iron man's suit

63 through age 70 he operates the batdroid, a fully robotic version of batman // art credit

altough dick has taken on the batman mantle in times of crisis, the official new batman, a batman that was seen as early as bruce's mid 50s was both cassandra cain and tim wayne

cass and tim share the mantle, although cass becomes the main batman

the new batman primarily has spoiler and/or red robin as their main backup/support
