I recently got back on the My Hero Academia train (pretty far behind in the manga) and was thinking about doing a poll on who would win in a fight between these two. Antagonist vs protagonist, magician vs villain, both fire powers, you get it.
But then I thought, "...no, Sypha wins this one no contest."
Here’s why: Leaving out her ice and lightning abilities, Sypha has a lot more precision control over her fire; she doesn't always just send out a jet of flame and hope she hits the target. (Remember, Twice had to get out of the way in order for Dabi to attack Hawks.) Plus, Sypha doesn't have the self-incineration risk Dabi has.
But the true deciding factor of why Sypha wins this fight is the fact that so far as I’ve seen, Dabi (as well as Endeavor and Shouto) can’t control fire that he didn’t create himself. They aren't stealing each others' flames to fight.
Sypha can.
So by virtue of her literally combusting a fire-breathing demon from the inside out, get wrecked, Touya.
It'd be one thing if they were equally matched in this fight, but it's hard to combat someone who can literally steal your fire and deflect it or send it back.
It's also the same result if she were to go up against Shouto. He's a heavy hitter on the team, sure, but he doesn't have the same kind of versatility with his Quirk as Sypha does with her magic. Same as the flames, she can also utilize external sources such as a forming ice out of raindrops. And again, she's not going to burn herself or give herself frostbite by using either of these abilities, so her only restrictions are energy and creativity.
There's also the fact that Sypha doesn't just leave it to long range attacks. She gets up close and ends you brutally with no fucks given. It takes a special kind of savage to roast a vampire alive, casually toss aside the corpse, and walk away like it's another Tuesday.
Don't get me wrong, I love both Shouto and Dabi as characters, but respect the queen.
The story and setting is purely a what-if scenario, no connection to the main series.
Both characters, LAXUS DREYAR and IVAN DREYAR, will showcase and display all of their skills and magical abilities.
No outside assistance or help, both will fight at their full peak.
All of their forms are completely separate and different from the main storyline but there have been hints and theories of their full potential.
This story does not take place in the 100 YQ but has certain elements of its content in it.
No friendship or subplots in their abilities, both will display pure peaks.
Some of their forms, while not shown in the actual series, can be referenced based on myths and facts that inspired their characters.
Laxus will not use his 100 YQ abilities as it does completely support the original concept.
Same goes Ivan, his abilities will be based on the manga and anime versions, his game counterpart will not count since it’s non-canon.
Laxus Dreyar
Base Form -> Lightning Magic Full Power -> Red Lightning Dragon Force -> Lacrima Dragonization -> Primordial Magic
BASE FORM
Aside from his powerful, ranged Magic attacks, Laxus has shown a penchant for melee fighting, demonstrating great mastery in unarmed combat, being strong enough to easily keep the upper hand against Natsu for most of their fight, to fend off both him and Gajeel at the same time and to strike Hades different times in rapid succession with him being unable to retaliate. His fighting style is an offensive, brutal and straightforward one, relying on a great variety of punches, kicks and even headbutts and even destroying Erza's lightning empress armor with an imbued lightning strike. In this round, we'll focus on hand to hand, magic imbued and striking martial arts reflexes. He is also shown capable of utilizing Jutsu Shiki which can counter a close shikigami attack from Ivan.
LIGHTNING MAGIC FULL POWER
Laxus’ signature Magic, over which he possesses great mastery. It allows him to produce and manipulate lightning and electricity at his will, having complete control over its manifestation. He can attack with a single or both hands to generate electrical discharges at a distance or at close-range. The effects of the blast depends on the user's own ability; Laxus, with his great mastery of Lightning spells, has proven himself capable of conjuring bolts of electricity that are either frail, hot enough to heat or a full radius devastating power to inflict damage. In this story fight, Laxus will utilize his magic at max power and will present certain signature abilities and close range attacks such as Raging bolt, Heaven Ward, Breakdown fist, other dragon slaying abilities will be presented against Ivan's deadly range magic of Shikigami.
RED LIGHTNING DRAGON FORCE
Laxus is capable of using the power of a Red Lightning Dragon. The dark-red lightning has been described as being a "lightning that goes beyond lightning", and is noticeably more powerful and possesses unique properties, Laxus also stated that blood is what makes the power of the Red Lightning. In this state, his dragon force slowly increases, turning more dragon-like transformation and most of his offense goes monstrous, increasing all basic parameters by incredible levels and deadly. Unable to fully break most of Ivan's lost magic defenses and barriers, nethertheless, he manages to break the enchantment form base Ivan displayed.
LACRIMA DRAGONIZATION
A Dragon slayer ability and a side effect of their Dragon Slaying Magic, rrolonged overuse of Dragon Slayer Magic causes the process to further mutate the Mage in question, becoming more Dragon-like over time, such as gaining features like reptilian scales and even horns. Most notably via DF where a Slayer's Dragon power is at its most powerful, momentarily bringing out more of the host's dragonization and becoming more defined from each use. However in this version of the story, because Laxus is second generation; his version is more crystalized based on the magic imbued from the lacrima. This state retains most of the enhanced traits but he acts more berserk to face. In FT 100 YQ, it's later revealed that the dragon lacrima are actual hearts from the former dragon, so given the theory; it's possible that dragonication can occur to the second generation if too much exposure. Ivan stated once that because Laxus is a fake dragon and not to be compared to the 1st and 3rd generation of dragon seeds and dragonification, Laxus is more of a ''pseudo'' dragon.
PRIMORDIAL MAGIC
Is one of the original sources of all forms of Magic and Laxus's true power. In the canon series, even with the ambiguity associated with it over time, have its believers share a common theory regarding it: that it is the source of all Magic Power, an omnipotent power. There was a theory from both the manga and anime series and a few interpretations have been given in the series about what The One Magic truly is. Both Makarov and Hades at one point, believed that Magic simply manifests in many ways, and that it does not have one concept, being that Magic is universal. So given that notion in this fan theory story, Ivan delivers a deadly blow to Laxus' dragon form which causes the lacrima to completely break apart, resulting in losing his dragon slaying magic. In his ''death" state he breaks own limit breaks such as both physical and mental barriers but open's to a deeper spiritual flow he inherited from his maternal side. Suddenly reappearing standing up unconsciously, he unleashes a power beyond dragon slaying and his true magic. His power and abilities far exceeds even Gildarts magic and his father's full power. His "One Magic' comes from ''Flow" as Laxus draws power from detachment such as anger, pride, hate and all emotions, and gains harmony. This form is heavily inspired by common traits of buddhism, but in Fairy Tail's version, his final magic form is best described as "going with the flow".
IVAN DREYAR
Base Form -> Shikigami Magic -> Ancient Formula -> Force Magic -> Fairy Heart Power
BASE FORM
In both series, Ivan is never seen performing hand-to-hand combat like most of the wizards. However, in the anime version of Laxus vs Raven Tail, there was an illusion fight of Alexei (Ivan in disguise) who was proficient, easily defended himself against and even overwhelmed a determined Laxus. It's safe to assume that that's Ivan's true fighting style, a harsh and extremely accomplished unarmed fighter. True to his character, he's also the kind of fighter to use his opponent's strength against them based on Aikijutsu; a style with several throws, counter throws and locks. However, it is a style that normally lacks striking attacks, and Ivan's strikes seem to come from various forms of discipline and cunningness in overpowering one's opponent. Despite his appearance, Ivan is both extremely physically strong and durable, as shown when Laxus punched him through a concrete wall only to shrug it off like it was nothing. One of his greatest skills to know about his character is that he is a physiological manipulator, able to use his opponents' emotions against them. He can also combine hard striking attacks such as kick and close-hand punches with softer open-hand circular techniques for attacking, blocking and controlling the opponent with Shikigami energy imbued in his strikes.
SHIKIGAMI MAGIC
Ivan's primary magic, it refers to a kind of spirit summoned to serve an Onmoyoji(a kind of sorcerer). These spirits are often depicted as changing into small pieces of paper once harmed or finished with their task in myth. The exact effects, as well as the extent of this Magic is currently unknown but based on ancient Japanese lore, some are used as charms for good fortune, some are used as amulets for protection, and some are used as curses as well as their power is connected to the spiritual force of their master, and they can take a variety of human or animal forms, possess or bewitch people, and even cause bodily harm or death. In Fairy Tail's version, shikigami is also a magic item and can also be used in magic so long as the user enchants portions of his magical force and letter contract. Being part of the Dreyar line, Ivan possess immense magical power for him to summon varieties of shikigami uses, such as creating dark energy attacks which releases a powerful wave of energy towards the target and can perform physical feats such imbuing the shikigami energy in his physical attacks and creating devastating blows. In the final fight, his magic will be expanded to full extent like creating clones of himself , summoning giant raven-like creatures of energy and delivering and creating powerful blasts or beams of high destructive power. Like his father and game counterpart (Zeref's awakening) Ivan can use elemental with Shikigami but only for short moments.
ANCIENT FORMULA
Based on his knowledge of Lumen Histoire (Fairy Heart) from Hades, it is assumed that Ivan spent time in Grimoire Heart, not only as a member but gave himself time in collecting and learning many forms and manners of magic uses Hades had collected through the years. Having been overwhelmed by his son's red lightning form, Ivan uses a form of blood magic to counter red lightning, but by using a combination of a enchantment and holder magic, performing a blood pact on a shikigami doll's forehead and magical absorbing enchanting to his own energy as well certain hand seals to perform; Ivan can perform various ancient spell to overpower a berserker like figure as Laxus. It can be assumed based on their enigmatic relationship, Ivan can also perform a similar magic arsenal that Hades had used against Team Natsu. Similar to Rustyrose's Arc of Embodiment, Ivan's Ancient formula allows the caster to materialize and subsequently use every form and use of ancient spells to use like anything they can imagine. Any of their creations give them great versatility both in and out of combat as they can range anywhere from everyday objects and weapons to more complex magic and forbidden seals. Ivan can also create and enchant a strong magical barrier armor like aura around his body, there are drawbacks to this form, there is a time limit and magical power usage, as well to cast this form; one must have absolute mental refinement. Despite its formidable arsenal, Ivan's enchantment formula was soon cut off and completely overwhelmed by the ferocity power of red lightning.
FORCE MAGIC
Ivan's true power and magic, as well as his ultimate "trump card", was meant as a last resort to use against Gildarts and Makarov in his conquest but was forced to use against Laxus at their last fight. This is a heightened state that is achieved by channeling all of his magical power in his body and muscles. It vastly increases the user's both strength and speed 10x times that of a normal wizard's capabilities. Force Magic is the only caster magic that can counter Crush magic, he completely turns into a much bulking but barbaric like figure with his skin much redder and facial features are more sharper; making him one of the most strongest and dangerous wizards of Fairy Tail's history. The Dreyar men are known to be extremely powerful based on their immense physical strength and power, similar to his father's Giant magic, Ivan can channel and allows himself to enlarge his body to gigantic proportions. But in his form, the physical prowess of Force magic not only enhances his physical traits but can channel exponentially to colossal power, surpassing Gildarts entirely. Like Gildarts Crush, Ivan's Force is an advanced Magic which gives the user the ability to smash everything they come into contact with a single punch, even mountains at ease. Its power is so great and deadly, even his whole body is indestructible at close range, the muscles are extremely durable enough to survive any form of weapons like spears and swords; even surviving Dragon slaying magic or dragon-like creatures like his son's lacrima form. Long ago, Ivan was formidable in both manners of caster magic and skills back in his prime and youth, but during his darkest day when he faced his beloved wife to the death, she landed a deadly blow in his chest; resulting in a massive hole like scar on the chest which made him lost the will of his magic. Resorting to strategy and ways to find weaknesses on his opponents, Ivan tried to overcome enemies through deception and cunningness, but since he founded Raven Tail, he secretly underwent extreme training to regain his old magic should he face Fairy Tail's strongest wizards. Despite its great power and strength, Force magic is a deadly taboo that if left prolonged for too long, not only can it damage the user internally but by the end of the transformation it can cause severe muscle pain on the entire body.
FAIRY HEART POWER
In spite of delivering deadly blows to Laxus in his Dragon form state, Ivan was still no match against his son's full Dragon Slayer's abilities as Laxus still overpowered him by unleashing a deadly version of Thunder Palace and raining down massive thunder raging bolts on Ivan. The magic was enough to destroy Magnolia town and any ordinary wizard, but Ivan; no ordinary man somehow survived. His stubborn, egomaniacal ,strong will power and refusal to give up managed to stand back up once again. But in an unconscious and blurry glance, seeing his son as a boy again made Ivan remember the bond he had and the love from his wife, the obsession and corruption of his path opened Ivan's Fairy Tail roots once more, granting him a power boost for this final round. All the years of hiding and masking his true self made Ivan realize obtaining an ancient weapon of his home for power was never there but remembering his father's words to him that "bonds" are the guild's power. Channeling his power and power of his own ''emotions'', Ivan regains his full strength and unlocking a magical variety power up of his own version of Fairy Heart. Heavily based on the final fight between brother Natsu and Zeref in which Zeref; even after obtaining fairy heart, was still overpowered by the emotional power Natsu had for his guild, in this story, Ivan's unique old fairy tail guild mark glows and generates a mix of his own magical power and that of his Fairy Tail magic. His strongest form yet in which is capable of surviving and shrugging off Dragon roars and magic like a human tank, Ivan manages to put a dent in Laxus's crystalized body, giving Ivan the upper hand in creating an opening weakness. By the time he finds one, as a last effort, Ivan channels all his power in one final attack on his son in which launches and sends Laxus to a small mountain of rocks resulting in a powerful explosion, "slaying" his dragon abilities once and for all. With that done and his transformation over and his magic depleted, Ivan falls to his knees, but not before receiving excruciating pain on his entire body from his transformation.

All the creative headcanon work credit goes to @snowfist13, who asked me to draw the chibis to support the excellent analysis. I personally totally love these descriptions and am particularly fond of the ancient shikigami magic Ivan uses. ;-)
Thanks again for the commission! :D
Matt often lets his antagonist NPCs learn from past encounters and change their plans/strategies if the party encounters them again. Since the Kryn warrior and mage managed to escape the Mighty Nein, I’ve been thinking about what they might do differently in a future battle, or what they might tell other Dynasty soldiers to do.
From their perspective of the battle and what abilities they saw each of the Mighty Nein demonstrate in episode 51, I think there are two, possibly three party members who might be in more danger from either these specific Kryn warriors or Kryn fighters more generally in a future encounter
The warrior is for sure going to be wary of Beau, and warn others about her if there’s any kind of debriefing. She showed she was fast as fuck, could attack a lot in one round (even if the dice were not in Marisha’s favor for those hits landing), and, most crucially, managed to stun the warrior not once, but twice. So in future encounters the Kryn could either try their best to avoid her, or try to incapacitate her early in the battle.
The mage, on the other hand, had his most serious tussle with Caleb. Between Caleb’s Wall of Fire/Counterspell move, killing three of the gnolls in one fireball hit, and managing to keep his concentration spell up through a ridiculous amount of damage, Caleb had a really good fight. But this might come back to bite him in future Kryn encounters, because the mage is sure to point out Caleb as a key spellcaster in the group who should be taken out first.
The third potential target in a future fight is Fjord. He exposed himself a bit more on the battlefield than some of the others, and summoned a fucking demon that did a lot of damage. The mage might note him alongside Caleb as a dangerous spellcaster, especially since he also managed to maintain concentration through a ton of damage.
Now, this is just what the Kryn fighters saw and were aware of. They don’t know that also key to the battle were Jester and Caduceus, with a super clutch use of double-Bless to cover most of the group. Neither of the Kryn fighters saw them cast that spell (they were all still hidden in the rock outcropping) so they wouldn’t know the two clerics were instrumental in a lot of things that went well for the Nein. And Nott was hidden for most of the battle, so in spite of the amount of damage she managed to do, I don’t think she’s going to be in the front of anyone’s mind either. Finally Yasha, while big and scary looking, fought in a fairly straightforward way, and Travis was rolling so low for damage that even during the battle, while the Kryn warrior was wary of her, they weren’t convinced she was the biggest or most immediate threat.
who do you think is better or win in martial arts, chuuya or kunikida
With or without Ability? If without, I think both of them will very much tied. Kunikida’s martial arts after all is taught to him by Fukuzawa, who can defeat Ability user with his own martial arts alone. Kunikida is probably the second strongest in ADA from martial arts alone, although we never see Chuuya and Kunikida battled it out. Also Chuuya tends to restrict himself to only fight with his hands when he feels threatened or in outrage, both which can be exploited with Kunikida.
If we count their Ability into the battle, then Chuuya will win hands down. Kunikida’s Ability can’t help him against Chuuya’s gravity manipulation. Chuuya can stop Kunikida’s bullets, evade his grenades, and in close combat a mere touch from Chuuya put him in a risk of being crushed by sheer gravity or locked in close combat without escape because Chuuya keeps pulling Kunikida to him.
So while as Sonic is probably faster than Shadow, he seems to build up to such speeds, meanwhile Shadow’s super strength coupled with his speed offers greater acceleration.
Coincidentally, we haven’t seen Sonic take on Shadow in close quarters after this.
