D&D: Ravnica Ideas that I just really like:

Aasimar Clans that have complicated relationships with the Angels that sired them. Scourge Aasimar are on the front lines of the Boros Crusades killing monsters and screaming “MOTHER I AM BURNING FROM THE INSIDE WHYYYYY!?!”  while Fallen Aasimar are addressing other Orzhov Syndics like “You are all inferior to us except for our Angelic Matron who is a huge bitch” and Guardian Aasimar are just hanging out with whoever they want and going “Haha jolly cooperation.”

Azorius Senate Androsphynx who sounds like Tom Selleck from the TV show Blue Bloods. The sphynx started his career as a riot cop and now is in charge of his own precinct station. He longs to go out on patrol again but this paper work and those policy decisions aren’t going to resolve themselves.

House Dimir saying “fuck it” and calling in squads of Cloud Giants to club enemies to death in thick fog banks. And then those giants just levitate up into the clouds when they kill their targets, like something out of a waking nightmare.  Those same giants wake up the next morning and head off to their jobs as accountants for the Orzhov Syndicate.

Tieflings joining guilds other than Cult of Rakdos just to spite their Bloodwitch parent. There’s an Izzet Laboratory somewhere in Ravnica staffed entirely by Tieflings.  Imagine a Bloodwitch showing off a picture of their tiefling daughter and saying “She left the circus, joined the Gruul Clans, now she’s like a pig farmer I guess. I’m proud of her no matter what she does with herself as long as it’s spectacular” 

Selesnya Conclave Picnics are the biggest and best picnics. Everyone brings their kids and pets and there’s corn on the cob and tofu and it’s nice and sunny and everyone is feeling great. But you will catch an arrow to the face if you try to ruin it, I SWEAR to Mat’fucking’Selesnya YOU WILL DIE IF YOU RUIN this precious moment.

Minotaurs and Devkarin (dark elves) having sewer-run competitions where they have to kill and grab the most number of giant rats and crossing the finish line before the time limit is up. Certain section of the Undercity have become really popular free-running raceways.

Death Knights are the undead Saints of the Orzhov Syndicate. They come in two varieties: (1) Born and Raised Syndics who feel entitled to their position and will talk endlessly about how you can honor them, or (2) Angsty ex-Boros Legionnaires who want to hear you confess every single sin you’ve committed

Fraz-Urbluu checks in on his son, Lazav, every century or so and asks how things are going. Then Fraz checks in with his on/off boyfriend, Rakdos and they have some private alone time. Both Rakdos and Lazav have no idea that it was Fraz who visited and they don’t understand why all the doors in their homes are in new places.
