Baddass women saving the world.
Arya and Éowyn have so much in common. I'll edit this with more on that later.
Edit:
Both women are of noble families (Lady Arya Stark of Winterfell and Lady Éowyn of Rohan) who become swordfighting masters despite efforts to hinder their greatness. Arya hindered in the first season by certain family members who told her fighting was not ladylike, and she should be knitting (*cough Catelyn cough* *cough Sansa cough*). Éowyn hindered through her uncle's illness (Grima and Saruman's doing/control) and requirement to take care of the people in his stead, including once he was better and off to battle himself he ordered her to stay behind. Arya's father happily, albeit secretly, organized her "dancing" lessons.
Arya's will to be the fiercest assassin warrior is ignited by her desire to avenge her family, while Éowyn's is that she wishes to protect her people. Both's world saving actions were likely prophesied. Arya's by the Red Witch Melisandre, who in season 3 essentially prophesied that Arya would kill the Night King on the day she took Gendry. I don't know if the Azor Ahai prophecy applies to Arya. I've been trying to figure it out and I havent made the connection yet, maybe someone else has? For Éowyn, I don't really remember them discussing this at all in the movies but in Tolkien-lore, the elven Lord Glorfindel prophesied after his own forced flee of the Witch-King during the first war that "not by the hand of man" would the Witch-King of Angmar fall. This could have double meaning as Éowyn is no man as she proclaimed to the Witch-King, although she is of the race of Men. But Merry, a Hobbit, came through with the assist in a way that helped Éowyn deliver the final blow. So two non-men took him down. With the Witch King gone, Sauron's biggest remaining source of power, all that was left was for the ring to be destroyed, and Sauron's remaining army...but hey, no pressure.
Anyway can't wait for the next episode of Game of Thrones, Arya coming for those green eyes.
