This week on #battlemapfriday, we are visiting the Drowned Prison in the sunken village of Old Thulsr! - The Jailer’s Office, a small above ground building made of stone, it hides the stairs that lead underground into the prison proper. 1. The Jailer’s Desk, a collection of scattered documents lay on the table. 2. Procedural Counter, before its abandonment, paperwork was conducted here. 3. Prison Records, an extensive collection of books detailing the crimes of various prisoners that once called this place home. - The Prison is located within the earth of the Moors, as the village sunk into the soft earth, waters from the wet earth began to deep into the prison, leading to its abandonment. 4. The Confiscatory, weapons of both the guards and criminals are kept here. 5. The Kitchen, the furnace is somehow mysteriously still running. 6. The Well, a small Black Pudding hides in this well. 7. Detention Gallery, once a temporary holding place for suspects. 8. Barracks, resting place for the guards now flooded with waist deep waters, a journal here describes strange experiments witness by one of the guards. 9. The Flooded Corridor, waist deep in water, a loud hissing sound and small wisps of smoke can be seen further down the corridor, the problem is that the hissing sound and the smoke seems to be moving, slowly. A Gelatinous Cube stalks this place. 10. Broken Containment, the Gelatinous Cube in area 9 seemed to originate from here. 11. Solitary Confinement, here in these cells, the most hardened of criminals were kept. Now all that remains are their vengeful spirits and broken bodies that the guards left behind as they evacuated this place. 12. The Torture Room, nesting in this room is a Black Pudding, and signs of experimentation. Could this tampering into forbidden knowledge be the cause of Thulsr’s sinking? - - The idea behind this dungeon was for it to have a small amount of mystery and vagueness so that it can be easily transplanted into any fantasy setting. The cause of its abandonment, the presence of the cubes and puddings are also opened to the DM’s interpretation! This map pack will be out on my Patreon page this weekend!
