"Drug Craze" 🧠 "Shantay You Stay (reference to drag race) or Battle of the Brains"
Drawing inspiration from the reality television series, our very own Dr. Mariano Que College of Pharmacy held its first ever Drug Craze Pharmacy Quiz Bee last December 1, 2022. It was the perfect way to open the college days celebration. Not only did it become a challenging and entertaining head-to-head competition between the 4 teams which comprised various year levels, but it also became a learning experience for every bystander. The conceptualization of the event surely was unique and not like any other quiz bee ever seen before. It was a nerve-wracking match of seeing who could press the buzzer first and everyone in Animo Center felt the satisfaction of getting the difficult questions right coming from the participants. I hope it becomes an annual event we all look forward to. I could see that while the freshmen could not get the other questions right, it did not stop them in answering questions the best they could. Personally, as an avid viewer of the original series, RuPaul’s Drag Race, that was the inspiration for the quiz bee, I found the inside jokes and references relatable and hilarious. From the commentary of the hosts, Miss Gracey Biagtan and Sir Tim Bengala to the infamous pit crew led by the one and only Sir Ryan Tuzon, the overall rating of the event was a 5 out of 5. It left a great impression and did not disappoint. I could see the effort of the organizers really paid off. Living up to its name, it left us drug crazed and wanting more. -Dela Cruz, Zoe Mae
