Thought to roam the dense jungles of Vietnam and Laos, the Batutut is Southeast Asia’s very own Bigfoot. Batutut means “Forest People” and it has been seen by the Vietnamese for centuries. Even US Soldiers have had encounters with the bipedal ape-like creature during the Vietnam War.
It stands at six feet tall and is covered in patchy hair. The hair is typically seen black or brown, and it is bipedal. It is has also been seen with groups of similar looking creatures and they are described to be aggressive, with some reports of attacks and suspected killings. Famed cryptozoologist Loren Coleman believes that it may not be the classic Bigfoot creature we are all familiar with. Typically when we think of Bigfoot we think of Gigantopithecus being the creature we are actually seeing, but this particular creature is described a little different. Loren Coleman thinks that Batutut is a surviving group of Homo Erectus or Neanderthal. Homo Erectus is a species of early humans, in fact the species lived alongside Gigantopithecus.
During the United States Military’s involvement in the Vietnam War, a handful of soldiers had an encounter with the animal. There are reports of a group who encountered what they called a “rock ape” while on a patrol. They said it was from five to six feet tall and had dark red hair. The jungles of Southeast Asia are dense and they could hide many secrets. But could a species of early human have survived for so many years in secret? Is it truly a surviving group of early human that’s being seen? Or maybe it is Gigantopithecus Giganteous which is a smaller species of Gigantopithecus. The answers are well hidden in the dense jungles of Southeast Asia.
