Baxter in Its Setting. In the distance are homes built on the side of a small mountain. The city of 1.7 million inhabitants is all around us … and many are in need. The young men playing soccer in the background emphasize our mission to individuals that will hopefully forge a Christian future. The tall palms place us in our tropical setting in Latin America. Our Goal - Bridge to Others. The sun sets on one of our new arches at the clinic. It symbolizes what we cherish in Jesus, one who made it His mission to ”seek and save the lost,” Luke 19:10. Above and Beyond. “Above” Teacher Miguel Aguilar is a Scripture first visible to one approaching the school, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” Rom.‬ ‭10:15‬. It captures the essence of Baxter, and it is Miguel. He has gone “beyond” others as longest tenured teacher and mostly importantly as one who shares the good news. #baxterfaculty #baxtermission (at Baxter Institute)

Pozo de Banfield or Baxter? Behind the CELO building the grounds' crew were rebuilding a fallen wall when they discovered a 40 foot "pozo" / well. It obviously had been dug during the time of the property's former owner, General Tiburcio Carias Andino. The general ruled as dictator of Honduras, 1936-49. He died in 1969, nine years before Baxter bought this property. I asked the workers to let me know if they found any skeletons (they didn't). It reminded me of the Pozo de Banfield only 20 blocks from our home in Buenos Aires. There dictators in the late 70's were responsible for the disappearance and deaths of 97 individuals. Often the kingdoms of this world kill and destroy, Baxter prepares those who will seek and save for the eternal Kingdom. #baxtercampus #baxterpozo #baxtermission (at Baxter Institute)

The 38 Arches. Baxter’s arch is visible throughout the campus, symbolizing the overarching reach to the multiple countries and cultures that pass through here. It is that bridge of Biblical training and the Clinic’s compassionate care to the ultimate reach to a world in need.
