Baby-Back Aces
The Diamondbacks announced today that they are promoting Trevor Bauer, to their AAA affiliate, the Reno Aces. Bauer, who was the D-Backs top draft choice in the 2011 June amateur draft and the third choice overall, had a record of 7-1 and an ERA of 1.68 with 60 strikeouts in 48.1 innings with the AA Mobile BayBears. He was scheduled to pitch today but instead will make the trip to join his new teammates in Reno.
Meanwhile the Diamondbacks other first round draft choice last June (seventh overall), Archie Bradley, could very well be promoted soon to take Bauer's place in the BayBears' rotation. Bradley has started out 5-1 with an ERA of 2.25 and 44 Ks in 40 innings for the A-ball South Bend Silver Hawks. Opposing hitters are batting just .107 against him.
