SWTORtober #5 - "the emperor"

yeah Galen is my Outlander! For the most part he bore it well and very patiently. By KOTFE he is very resolute in his allegiance to the Light Side. Plus, the destruction of Ziost nearly killed him. Thus, largely unwilling to give any ground to Valkorian.

For the most part, he tries to be patient and levelheaded with Valkorian, or better yet ignore him altogether. But on Voss, things aren't going so well. He hasn't fully recovered from the last time he was possessed. This was supposed to help. Instead, the planet was attacked, many people killed or mourning loved ones, and Valkorian is back. So Galen just isn't willing to endure Valkorian's BS as much as usual, and he snaps at him.

Obviously this does not affect Valkorian in the slightest, and it doesn't make him feel better. But you can tell Galen is struggling when his usually boundless patience runs out.

In my Alliance trio (Galen, Aela, and Periflynn), Galen is neither the smartest, nor the most connected, nor the best at influencing people. But he's the moral compass of the group. He's the only one, of the three of them, who would refuse Valkorian's power and the only one with the self-control to remain in control when Valkorian tries to take the reins. So Periflynn and Aela, and Theron and Lana, strategize and martial resources and fight their fight, against the Eternal Throne. Meanwhile Galen is fighting his own internal battle the entire time to keep Valkorian contained and minimize the damage inflicted on everyone around him.

I haven't yet finished KOTET. I've heard that the ending for how Valkorian is defeated is pretty underwhelming. But I like the beginning, and I like the setup. Two villains, two battlegrounds. If SWTOR won't give me a satisfactory end to either, I hope I will be able to make up the difference.
