7. Baked Demons

You found him at five in the afternoon. He was sitting outside the manor, playing with one of the cats that liked to stroll around the premises. Not an unusual occurrence per-say, however, it was still a surprise considering telling having had a very strict schedule for the day.

As you approached someone waved at you from behind some bushes. It was Finny, together with Bart and Mey. They looked… scared. You walked over to them and they frantically explained to you what had happened.

Apparently, Sebastian had, while preparing the young Master's dinner, mistakenly dropped one of the mints into some liquid. Then, as he had taken it out and smelled the combination of chocolate and mint his pupils had gone wide and his face dropped before his lips curled into a leisurely smile.

You chuckled slightly as you looked back towards the butler in question. He looked uncharacteristically carefree, playing with the cat like it was the only thing in the world that mattered. You hummed in thought for a moment and then turned to the three of them.

You gave each of them very clear instructions on how to prepare the young Master's dinner properly, promising that you would deal with Sebastian. And with that they were off and you considered what could have possibly happened to Sebastian as you approached him once again.

As you got closer he turned to you, that big smile still on his face. When he opened his eyes you stopped dead in your tracks. His eyes were glowing pink and his pupils were oval, like a cat whose pupils were blown out while doing something silly. Or sniffing catnip…

You put your hands on your hips, a mock scowl on your lips, barely able to hide your amusement. "No. Way." Sebastian leaned his head to the side questioningly. "Are you seriously telling me that a chocolate covered mint is like catnip to demons? That's just… highly unlikely." You couldn't help the slight laugh bubbling out of you now.

Sebastian was taken aback for a second, his mind clearly working slower than usual. "I am not. A demon." He put the cat in his lap to put one hand over where his heart would be and the other behind his back. "I am simply… one hell of a demon." He flinched slightly at the word, clearly confused why he said that.

You on the other hand were fully laughing now. Ciel would be sooo pissed when you told him about this later.
