MC falling asleep in Kamilah’s arms on the private jet and Kamilah holding her protectively and warning the others not to wake her up
Amy hadn’t slept in three days, so when Kamilah heard her snores coming from her arms, she vowed to do anything to let her rest. Admittedly, she didn’t know that ‘anything’ would be such a tall order.
“Kamilah, I wanted to talk to you about --” Adrian came up to her, nose buried in his laptop.
“Shhhh!” she hissed, glaring at him.
“Oh,” he whispered. “Sorry.”
He walked back to his seat, glancing back at Kamilah once or twice, brows furrowed.
Then, Jax decided that flying through the air was the perfect time for some practice with his katana. Every clash of metal reverberated through the cabin.
“So help me Gods!” Kamilah hissed, eyes blazing red as she stared at Jax.
“Uh...sorry,” he said, sheathing his katana and lifting his hands in defense. “My bad.”
“OH MY GOD!” shouted Lily, her thumbs mashing against the device in her hand. “You sonuva--”
Kamilah growled, drawing Lily’s attention. Her face drained of color when she saw Kamilah’s bright red eyes staring back at her.
“Heh, heh,” she laughed, nervously. She shut off her game, sinking further into her seat to avoid Kamilah’s glare.
Kamilah finally relaxed, having successfully scared all of their friends into submission. She kissed Amy’s head softly, overcome with love.
Note: So @clan-sayeed-fic and I had this crazy idea about writing a fic together (well I have a bad memory but i think it was her idea so don't blame me 😁 )
This is a collaboration to see how this fic will look considering our different writing styles.
Please tell us what you think, hope you enjoy it 😉 .
Summary: A tragic event leads to an open spot in clan Sayeed. Guess who's the new member?
Warning: I have no idea what to warn you about 😅 (please don't kill me for my bad jokes).
Chapter one: Sorry
Written by @lightning-fury
==> chap 2
Amy’s life wasn’t exactly normal she got her share of dark /weird /tragic series of events. But nothing from what she experienced had ever prepared her for this.
“If someone told me 3 days ago” she said to herself “that I’ll be standing in the middle of a hidden temple down Central Park in front of an about to be president of the U.S senator, 2 powerful CEOs, a crime lord, a famous designer, and a rich ... Creep! Whom are all vampires who form a secret council that run all of New Work and about to determine whether I’ll live or die?”
She continued
“Fuck, I’ll call’em crazy and run as fast as my legs can take me”
The council members have been arguing, since the moment Vega, Senator Adam Vega to be accurate started the meeting an hour ago
“Since this is about the empty place in clan Sayeed, I’ll be leading today’s meeting instead of our senior member” he motioned to Kamilah who nod in approval, although Kamilah didn’t speak a single word since she came she still radiates power and grace.
Vega continued “I open the vote proceedings on the post-facto petition Amy Clark to join clan Sayeed”
All eyes turned to Amy
“What a snack” Priya Lacroix the famous designer eyed the girl hungrily “what about handing her to me” she winked at Amy “you and I will have so much fun”
Kamilah looked at Priya like she’s seriously considering what she said
“I mean how bad it can be” Amy said to herself “I’ll take anyone but Kamilah”
“I say we give that place to that Jax dude, with their leader in our pockets we’ll end the clanless rebellion” said Lester Castellanos
“Oh! The creep has a brain after all”
“Guess who the crazy one is now? Amy” the blond inhaled deeply “How did I get myself in this madness anyway?”

« Where am I? » Amy opened her eyes confused
“It is dark, cold.., I can’t move.” she shifted trying to regain even a fraction of control over her body but she failed.
“I can’t...” her heart beats started to race “why? Am I dead?”
“Hunger! I’m hungry” she thought “I’m craving something, like my life depends on it, but what is it?”
Suddenly a wave of light overtook the darkness surrounding her, and then she heard a man’s voice
“It’s time!”
When her vision adjusted to the light, she looked around making sense of her where about
“A basement? I’m in a sarcophagus!” she said.
The place is ancient like it’s out of a fairytale castle of old. Next to her a handsome man in a suit, it look expensive. There is also a woman standing far away, she’s well dressed too, wearing a purple jacket over a white shirt and dark purple pants. But she looks annoyed, like she’d rather be anywhere else but here.
“They look familiar!” She thought
Memories of the night’s events that come rushing to Amy, she jumped overwhelmed by what she remembered.
“I was .., the party .., blood .., that girl!” she said in panic.
Amy was cut short by the woman, she was standing in front of her in a flash.
“How did she got here that fast”
The woman leaned closing the distance between them; allowing Amy to get a better look. Her expression is a mixture of anger, grief and regret. But gods! she is so beautiful, a goddess everything about her is perfect from the light brown silky skin, brown straight hair to the crimson red eyes of hers, down to her full lips Amy could’ve melt in the woman’s touch, well if it wasn’t for the hand chocking her and the deadly look the woman’s giving her .
“That girl had a name” the woman snarled, jaw tight “and you killed her”
“Kamilah, please!” the man appealed to her.
She loosens her grip on the girl’s neck and in a blink of an eye she was by the stairs leaving.
“Wait! Where are you going? We must explain ...” the man tried to stop her.
She posed mid-way fists clenched “I don’t want to see her face. Not now” she turned her back and kept walking
“Deal with her.”
And like that she left.
Amy didn’t understand what was going on “why is she angry with me. What did I do to her? I don’t even know her” she asked herself confused, the man who still there approached.
“Please don’t mind Kamilah, she’s still grieving.” he helped Amy sit
“I’m Adrian ... Raines.” He introduced himself
Adrian was nothing like Kamilah Amy thought there is sadness in his eyes, buried deep inside but he has a smile warm enough to reassure anyone who sees it that everything will be okay.
“Raines, huh!” Amy looked at him “like that rich CEO”
“The one and only” Adrian laughed softly his expression turned serious “Amy I know that you must be confused and that you want answers” he looked at her concerned.
“What I’m about to say may sound crazy, but it’s the truth. You remember the party right?”
“Yes” Amy answered heart pounding in her chest somehow she know what he’s about to say. “It wasn’t a nightmare, it was real. What I saw is real” she said to herself.
“Because of that attack, the only way to save you was to turn you. Amy you became a …”
Adrian resumed
“A vampire.”
*******
Back to the present
“Vampires! Who would’ve believed they do exist. Vicious creatures of the night, and now I’m one of them”
Adrian’s voice cut her thoughts
“Are you all forgetting Elizabeth’s wish?” that gained the others attention “she wanted Amy to take her place and we must honor her last wish”
Kamiah’s body tensed at the mention of Elizabeth’s name, but she quickly regained her calm composer, it happened in a matter of seconds but Amy noticed the change, maybe it was thanks to her new high senses that she noticed in the first place, but to be honest the girls couldn’t take her eyes off the “Vampire Queen” as Adrian referred to her.
Amy didn’t saw Kamilah since that day in the basement. Although Amy knew how much the old vampire despise her, she couldn’t help but yearn to see her again, there is this thing about Kamilah; it’s like a magnet drawing the blond to her. But in this case it’s better to describe it as a moth drawn to fire.
That basement was under Adrian’s company. The young CEO was nice to Amy “Tho he told her that he wasn’t as young as she thought”, Adrian explained everything to her about the vampires, the clans and how she must be accepted in a clan or else the council will execute her or she’ll turn to a feral whichever come first. He also walked her through her first feeding.
“Amy! .. Amy!” it was Vega this time who got the new blood out of her mind space “Do you want to add anything before we resume”
“No” Amy shrug.
“Okay, if you are in favor of her petition for clan membership, please say ‘aye’.” Said Vega
“Adrian?”
“Aye” Adrian declared.
“Priya?”
“She’s better placed with my toy collection” Priya purred like a cat “So Nay”
“Lester?”
“Nay” Said Lester.
“Baron?”
Amy looked at the Baron. Adrian told her all about him, despicable, vile, a criminal through and through.
But when she saw him today he didn’t look like how Adrian described, beside his curses at Priya and Lester’s comments he didn’t say anything.
“Elizabeth and I had our differences” he grumbled “but I respected her and I’ll respect her wish, it’s an ‘Aye’ from me” said the Baron.
Adam cleared his throat “That’s 2 ‘aye’s, and 2 ‘nay’s. My own vote is an ‘Aye’ I have no reason to object, bringing the ‘aye’s to three.”
“Four ‘aye’ votes are needed to pass the petition” he stated “that means the deciding vote goes to Kamilah.”
Amy stood there petrified “Kamilah’s vote will determine my fate” she swallowed hard, her heart started pounding like a hammer.
Kamilah smirked looking at the girls for the first time since she graced this temple with her presence, “Is she enjoying seeing me like this” Amy thought “she must be hearing the raising of my heart beats” the blond closed her eyes “breath Amy … breath, don’t give her the satisfaction”
There is no doubt that Kamilah want Amy dead, but she seemed divided/ tormented between 2 paths ‘Having to live with the one who caused her little sister’ death from now on by Accepting Amy in her clan’ Or ‘taking her revenge and not respecting Elizabeth’s last wish’.
The vampire queen closed her eyes, she made her decision.
Waiting for Kamilah to cast her vote felt like ages. It’s like time froze.
“Aye” Kamilah said and regretted saying it the moment the word left her mouth, but there’s no turning back now.
All the noises around Amy was muted, Priya seems displeased, Vega and Raines are saying something about her getting some kind of a brand but she didn’t care, she should be happy, relieved. But she’s not, instead she feel guilty, ashamed, tears forming in her green eyes “Maybe I don’t deserve to live, why did I survived? She should’ve lived not me”
She saw Kamilah heading her way; Amy tried to gather the courage to speak.
“Kamilah ...”
The vampire stopped next to Amy refusing to look at her.
Amy wanted to express her gratitude, she wanted to apologize, she wanted to hug Kamilah and comfort her.
But all that came out is a muffled whisper “s-sorry” the blond said.
Amy sat on the couch, arms folded over her chest. Kamilah walked over to her, head cocked.
“Hello?” she said, trying to gauge Amy’s mood.
“Hmph,” Amy said, refusing to make eye contact.
Kamilah smiled...she couldn’t help it.
“What are you laughing at?” Amy asked, offended. “It’s not funny!”
“Okay,” Kamilah said, lightly. “What’s not funny?”
“I saw your new secretary,” Amy said sadly.
“Who?” Kamilah asked, confused. “Oh, Sarah? Yes, she started today.”
“She’s gorgeous,” Amy pouted.
Kamilah saw where this was going. “I hadn’t noticed,” she said, nonchalantly.
“Oh please,” Amy said, rolling her eyes. “You expect me to believe that you’ve got a goddess working for you, and you didn’t notice her?”
Kamilah chuckled. “What can I say?” she said, sitting beside her. “I’ve only got eyes for one goddess.”
Amy’s cheeks heated, but she pulled back from Kamilah’s advances. “Don’t you try to sweet-talk me,” she said, jabbing her finger in Kamilah’s chest.
“Me?” Kamilah asked, feigning surprise. “I would never.” She inched closer to Amy, wrapping her arm around her.
“Kamilahhhh,” Amy whined. She knew what she was doing. She’d come in with her strong arms and soft hands and gorgeous face and Amy would forget what she was even upset about.
“Why don’t you let me show you,” Kamilah said, pulling her close, “how much I don’t care about...what’s her name,” she said, kissing Amy’s head.
“You--” Amy loved the way her arms felt around her. “You know her name,” she managed to get out.
“Whose name?” Kamilah asked, pulling Amy into her lap.
“I hate you,” Amy said, not meaning a word of it.
“I love you too,” Kamilah replied, holding her tight.
Are you taking prompts? I have this HC that Kamilah has some lingering anxiety bc of what happened to her artist lover, so she holds onto MC much tighter than she means to when she’s asleep, and that MC knows this and is content to be clung to. Could you write something for this?
It had been years since she lost her, and still every night it came back. Some nights she woke up in a cold sweat, gasping for breath, shouting. Those nights scared Amy, but she pulled her into her arms and stroked her back while she muttered about the old flame.
Kamilah had told her the tale, the way her lover perished and there was nothing she could do about it. She also told her that she was the last person she cared for, really cared for, before her.
“I love you, Amy,” she’d said. “This isn’t about my love for you, or lack thereof. It’s about my fear for you, my fear that everything I love will meet the same damned end.”
“I know,” Amy whispered to her, holding her. “It’s okay.”
And maybe she would feel jealous, insecure. Maybe, if it weren’t for the other nights. The nights that she didn’t wake up in terror, but pulled Amy close to her, called her name in her sleep.
The nights she held Amy as if her life depended on it, and Amy felt safe, secure, loved. She knew it was selfish, the way she benefited from Kamilah’s fear. But she couldn’t help but love the way she held her.
Amy’s family hadn’t been terribly intimate, and truly she hadn’t considered herself a very intimate person, before Kamilah. But when she held her, she received something she’d been missing, something she hadn’t even realized she was missing. Kamilah’s arms were her favorite place to be, her heart beating in her ear, her scent enveloping her.
She hadn’t even realized she started crying, when Kamilah roused from sleep. “Baby, what’s wrong?” she said, still bleary-eyed as she reached her hand up and caressed Amy’s cheek.
“Nothing,” Amy said, shaking her head. She touched her hand to Kamilah’s, squeezing it gently.
“You’re crying,” Kamilah objected.
Amy smiled, squeezing her hand again. “Happy tears, my love,” she said, heaving a deep sigh. “I just feel so safe with you.”
Kamilah pulled her into her lap, kissing her cheek.
“You’re always safe with me, darling,” she promised, holding her protectively.
“I know,” Amy replied, cuddling into her neck. “I know.”
fluffy prompt: kamilah stressed out and wanting snuggles but being too proud to ask for them, so instead she just pulls mc onto the bed and buries her face in the crook of her neck, not saying a word and clinging to her for dear life... mc catching on pretty quickly and then soothingly stroking her hair and kissing her forehead till she falls asleep.
A/N: Excuse me while I go cry myself to sleep, thanks.
It was unlike anything she’d experienced in her 2,000 years. Sure, she was there for the plague, and numerous other illnesses, but never with so much technology, so much opportunity to prevent this. And never as the head of a massive company with the lives of thousands relying on her and the decisions she made.
To say it had been stressful was, well, an understatement. She walked through the apartment after another long day of meetings and contingency plans, desperate for a sense of comfort. She sighed as she shrugged off her jacket, the comfort of home doing little to relieve her.
Trudging into the bedroom, she saw Amy laying sprawled out reading a book. She sat beside her, trying not to cry.
“Hey,” Amy said, not looking up from her book. “How was work?”
Kamilah hesitated, unable to tell her about the terrible day she had, about the pain she felt in her chest and the pressure on her shoulders, how she felt like everything around her was falling apart and she couldn’t hold it up anymore.
Instead of speaking, she pulled Amy towards her, burying her face in her neck, arms wrapped tightly around her as if she was afraid she would drown.
“Baby?” Amy asked, putting her book down. She turned her body to allow Kamilah access as she folded herself into her.
Amy didn’t know what had caused the sudden vulnerability in her usually fierce and formidable girlfriend, but it didn’t matter. She could tell from the desperation in her grip that she needed comfort, and that was exactly what she’d give her.
Amy stroked her back, holding her tight. “Shhh,” she soothed, feeling Kamilah’s body quiver in her arms as sobs shook through her. “It’s okay, baby.”
They sat in silence, Amy stroking Kamilah’s back, running her hand through her hair. She kissed her head gently. “I’ve got you,” she whispered to her. “You’re okay.”
Slowly, Kamilah’s breathing steadied. Amy held her longer still, desperate to give her the solace she needed.
Only when she heard the softest snores did she pull away, slowly so as not to wake her.
“You’re okay, baby,” she whispered before laying her own head down, eyes on her beautiful queen. “I’ve got you.”
MC getting Kamilah to build Lego’s with her in Corona Isolation 🤟🏻 Bonus points if they’re both drunk as hell and unable to follow the directions ✌🏻
“Why do we have to stay home?” Amy whined and Kamilah poured them another glass of wine. They were on their fourth bottle, and they were definitely starting to feel it.
“Because the city of New York is under shelter in place,” Kamilah said, calmly.
“But we’re not going to get sick! We’re vampires!”
“Amy,” Kamilah said with a slight smile. “Who would you like me to tell that we should be exempt from the shelter in place order becauses we’re vampires?”
Amy was silent for a moment. “I–I see your point.”
“Good,” Kamilah replied. “Now, how shall we occupy ourselves?” Her voice was low and sultry, her eyes smoldering.
“Ohh,” Amy said, excitedly. “I have the best idea!”
“What is it?” Kamilah said cautiously.
“I got you something!” she said, laughing. “Stay here!”
Amy rushed to the bedroom, leaving Kamilah to her thoughts. Some lingerie, perhaps? Maybe a new toy?
Amy rushed out with a bag, smiling wide. “Open it!” she said, shoving it into Kamilah’s hands.
Kamilah pulled the bag open slowly, lifting the box from it.
“Wh–what is this?” she asked, staring at the box.
“Legos!” Amy shouted with glee. “It’s a pyramid!”
Kamilah turned the box over before seeing the price tag on the back. “$430?!” she gasped in shock.
“It’s worth it, Kami, we can build your home!” Amy’s eyes shined bright with excitement and softness and love and Kamilah sighed. She couldn’t be mad at her when she looked like that.
“Alright then,” Kamilah said with a smile. “Let’s get to work.”
Amy sat on the floor, tearing into the box and pulling out a heavy instruction pamphlet. She tossed it to the side, tearing into the plastic bags that held the little bricks.
“Uhm,” Kamilah said, sitting down beside her. “Perhaps we should use these?”
Kamilah picked up the instructions, leafing through them.
“Nah, let’s wing it!” said Amy, laughing.
Kamilah laughed as she quickly stuck some blocks together in a pitiful, miniature, pyramid. “See!” she said. “Easy.”
“Uh huh,” Kamilah replied. “And what are all these other bricks for?”
“Uhh…” Amy looked around, scratching her head. “Fiiiiiine, read the instructionssss”
Kamilah began reading them aloud, Amy trying to find the pieces she described.
“Well this is the base,” Amy said, eyebrows furrowed in concentration. “But which ones go on the bottom?”
Kamilah looked at the diagram. “Uh, they’re…long,” Kamilah said, looking through the piles.
“We have like twelve different types of long,” Amy said.
“Hmm,” Kamilah said quietly. “I think we need more wine.” She stood and padded to the kitchen, pouring them each another glass.
Amy meanwhile tried to force two of the pieces together in a way that very clearly did not make sense.
“I don’t know abou–”
She was interrupted by the most beautiful fit of rage she’d ever seen.
“FUCK!” shouted Kamilah, lifting her foot from the carpeted floor, a small tan lego brick falling from it. “GOD DAMN IT! MOTHER FUCKER!”
Amy tried not to laugh as she stood, Kamilah standing on one leg and tears streaming down her face. Amy took the glasses from her hands as she crumbled into a ball, holding her injured foot.
Seething, she looked at Amy. “No more Legos,” she said.
Amy nodded, biting her lip. “Yup,” she replied. “No more legos.”
After all she’d survived at Kamilah’s side, it was a car accident that landed her in the hospital. Kamilah couldn’t believe the injustice of it all.
She sat in a chair by the bed, watching Amy lay there. Well, Amy’s body, anyway. Kamilah saw no sign of what made this Amy her Amy. She was stiff and quiet, her skin pale, bruises covering her body like a constellation.
Her heart hurt, watching the machines beep and flash as Amy’s broken body lay before her. All in all she was pretty lucky, not having sustained any life-threatening injuries. But she hadn’t woken up yet, and though the doctors tried to hide it, they seemed nervous.
Kamilah couldn’t help but feel like there was something she was missing. As much as she tried to convince herself that this was just a normal, human car accident, something about it felt off.
She was deep in thought when she first saw Amy’s eyelashes flutter. She thought she was seeing things, until they moved again, slowly opening to the world.
She called for the doctor, taking her hand.
“Hey,” she said gently.
Amy squinted at her, eyes darting around the room.
“Where am I?” she asked, panicked.
“There was an accident,” Kamilah said slowly. The doctor came in behind her, checking Amy’s vitals.
“Amy, do you remember how you ended up here?"
Amy shook her head, her eyes growing darker as the panic weighed on her.
"What happened?” she asked, looking at the doctor.
“You were in a car accident,” Kamilah offered, trying to relieve the panic.
Amy moved her limbs slowly, assessing for damage. She looked to where Kamilah held her hand, pulling it away abruptly.
“Who are you?” she asked, the wild look still in her eyes.
Kamilah’s mouth grew dry as she stared at Amy, unable to speak. This couldn’t be.
“I–” she finally forced out, trying to find the right words.
“Amy,” the doctor interrupted, much to Kamilah’s relief. “This is Kamilah, do you remember her?"
Amy’s eyes darted between Kamilah and the doctor before she frowned, shaking her head. "Do I know you?” she finally asked.
“I–” Kamilah began, looking at the doctor. She nodded, encouraging Kamilah to continue. “We are dating,” she finally forced out.
“Oh,” Amy whispered, her brows furrowed. “I…I don’t remember you.”
She looked at the doctor, her eyes shifting from panic to pain. “Why don’t I remember her?”
“Memory loss is common after an accident like this,” she said, her voice calm. “We’ll monitor you for a few days to make sure there isn’t any significant damage, but being in your normal environment is often helpful to bring your memory back. Don’t stress and don’t rush things, you need to be patient with yourself.”
Amy looked at her hands, overwhelmed with the news. Kamilah watched her carefully, her heart in her throat. What was she supposed to do? How was she supposed to help her?
“We’ll get through this,” she said, smiling in spite of herself. “We can get through anything.”
Amy raised her head, her eyes locking with Kamilah’s. There was a tidal wave of emotion there, hurt and confusion and fear.
“Kamilah, why don’t you walk with me?” the doctor asked, turning to head out the door.
“I’ll be right back, Amy,” she said, turning to follow the doctor.
After reaching the hall, the doctor turned to Kamilah.
“What should I do?” Kamilah asked, before the doctor could speak.
“Memory loss is extremely variable,” the doctor began. “She could remember everything in a few hours, or never remember. What is important is that you be patient with her and support her. Expose her to familiar environments and experiences, answer her questions, but don’t pressure her. She’s going to have a lot of frustration, so it’s important that you don’t add to it.”
Kamilah nodded, continuing her conversation with the doctor. She struggled to focus on the words she said, floating in and out of the conversation.
“Thank you,” she finally said, before returning to the room. Amy laid facing away from her, staring out the window. She wanted to hold her, to make her feel safe, but she knew that doing that now would have the opposite effect.
Everything they’d shared, everything they’d been through…she wouldn’t remember any of it. She didn’t even know that Kamilah was a vampire, she wouldn’t remember anything about her world. She tried to slow her breathing, the panic closing around her lungs like a vice.
She pulled out her phone and texted their friends, letting them know what she’d learned.
Kamilah: Amy is awake. She doesn’t remember the accident, or much about what happened before. Or me. We don’t know the full extent of her memory loss yet, but the doctor is going to do some tests and then we’ll know more.
Lily: Her memory is just gone? What does that mean? What do we do?
Adrian: What can we do to help?
Jax: Is she okay? Are you okay?
Kamilah sat her phone on the table beside her, unable to respond to their questions. She didn’t have the energy or the resolve to do that right now.
“How long have we been dating?” Amy asked quietly, still facing the window. Kamilah’s heart jumped at the sound of her voice, and she brushed away the tears from her eyes.
“Six months,” Kamilah replied. “But it seems like I’ve known you my entire life.”
“I can’t remember you,” said Amy. “No matter how hard I try, you’re not there.”
“That’s okay,” Kamilah said, squeezing her fists tight. “If I have to start at square one, we’ll get there. I’ll help you remember.”
Amy was silent, still staring at the window. “Will you tell me how we met?” she asked, shifting in the bed.
“Of course,” Kamilah said, smiling. She began to explain the start of their relationship, without including some of the more…shocking elements.
Amy listened as she spoke, trying to remember what she described, begging for anything to sound familiar, but nothing did.
Mc getting drunk and kamilah carrying her to her house and letting her sleep in her bed
A/N: I’m going to combine these three because they’re basically the same thing.
Amy wasn’t handling Lily’s death well, but she wouldn’t admit that she was hurting. Despite Kamilah’s best efforts, she insisted they spend the night out at a club. She watched her as she threw herself back and forth on the dance floor, clearly inebriated. She took another long swig of the drink in her hand before making her way back to Kamilah.
“I need another drink!” she shouted to Kamilah, her chest heaving.
“Are you sure that’s a good idea?” Kamilah asked, putting her hand on the small of her back.
“It’s the only idea!” Amy shouted, leaving Kamilah behind to head to the bar. As she approached she downed the rest of the drink, slamming the glass on the bar.
“Another!” she shouted to the bartender, who nodded and quickly provided her another drink. She took it and made her way back to Kamilah, swaying on her feet.
“Hey ssssexy,” she slurred, wrapping an arm around Kamilah’s neck.
“Amy,” Kamilah said, frowning.
“Don’t ‘Amy’ me,” she replied, taking another drink. “You’re not my mom. I just need to have fun.”
“You’ve had a lot to drink,” Kamilah tried again.
“Not enough,” Amy said, raising the glass to her lips again.
Kamilah grabbed her arm, taking the drink from her hand. “More than enough,” she muttered.
“No,” Amy said, trying to get the drink back. “No, Kamilah, I need it.”
“Amy,” Kamilah began, but Amy interrupted.
“I need it, Kami,” she said, tears welling in her eyes. “I need this. I need to stop these feelings, I need to stop the pain, the fucking hole in my chest, because she--” Amy trailed off, her eyes getting wide before she darted towards the bathroom.
Sighing, Kamilah followed. She leaned down, pulling Amy’s hair back as she emptied her stomach, rubbing her back gently. “There, there,” she cooed.
Amy finally finished, collapsing onto the filthy bathroom floor. “I’m sorry,” she said, tears streaming down her face. “I’m so sorry.”
“It’s okay, baby,” she promised, wiping away her tears. “Let’s go home, huh?”
Amy nodded in agreement and Kamilah helped her to her feet. They wobbled out of the club and into the car, Kamilah driving them home in silence.
By the time they made it to the apartment, Amy had passed out. Kamilah unbuckled her gently, pulling her into her arms. Her heart hurt for her love. She couldn’t imagine the loss she was feeling, after everything...it wasn’t right that she had to lose her best friend.
She carried her slowly to the bedroom, laying her in the bed before declothing and climbing in beside her.
Amy shifted, looking at Kamilah with pink-rimmed eyes. “I’m sorry, Kami,” she whispered.
“No, baby,” Kamilah said, pulling her close. “Don’t apologize.”
“I just--” Amy stopped, silent sobs wracking her body. “I miss her so much.”
“I know, baby,” Kamilah said, holding her tight. “I know.”
