I’m skipping on my rant again (Because this is part of Book 3). But why the hell is the patient from Open Heart being used for Blood Bound? I had immediately scoffed and said, “Forreal?....Wooooooooow”. I couldn’t have Mataye take blood from him, even though he was cool and offered.

I’m gonna start off by saying BB’s finale had great writing. How they showed Rheya she was the one that killed her own daughter and when realisation dawned on her? Loved it. The way they describe MC gaining power and feeling it coursing through her. Shivers. I can only speak from Kamilah’s romance route but she had some of the sweetest lines to MC. I also really like how they had the balls to kill off Jax/Lily. And even their funeral really got me a little in my feelings.

HOWEVER,

WTF WAS THE POINT OF THIS CHOICE?!?!

At first I was really excited that they gave us such an important decision until I realised if we chose to embrace darkness, we had to restart at checkpoint and eventually choose our LI.

The significance of this choice really just yeeted our the window when they did this instead of giving us a darker ending option. If they’re gonna give us a choice at least follow through with it.

I won’t even be that disappointed if it was one of those timed choices that maybe went:

Reject darkness

And if we failed then we embrace darkness and restart from checkpoint. At least they’re telling us that we only have one choice. Giving us the option to choose to embrace darkness but making us ultimately choose our LI gives us a false illusion that the story could go two ways.

Not only that, but this...

... really kinda just rubbed me the wrong way. If they wanted us to pick our LI they shouldn’t have given us the choice is all I’m saying.

This isn’t that big of a deal and I’m kinda just nitpicking here cuz overall the finale is better than what I expected. But I’m just kinda disappointed they didn’t let us choose our ending even though they made it seem like we could.
