The events of what I like to call "Justice League Crap: Shitopolips Dump" (because I refuse to give that thing any more attention by referencing it's title) really traumatized and depressed me a lot. It made me into so much more of a bitter, cynical person and killed so much of my interest in DC media.
While I can't bring myself to enjoy actual corporate-backed DC media anymore, I am trying to alleviate my bitterness by reviving a project of mine that was creating my own original DC continuity completely detached from any prior universe.
This is functionally just a trace/edit of official YJ artwork but anyway it shows one of my character ideas - the version of Beast Boy from my continuity.
There is a twist though. He's not Garfield.
His name is Justin Garfield Roth Logan, the child of Garfield Logan & Rachel Roth, and the current "Beast Boy" (so yes obviously both Garfield and Raven are adults).
His powers have not been fully decided yet, but he basically takes that one time Beast Boy turned into demons and runs with that. Maybe some of Raven's magic too. The left is supposed to be how he initially looks, largely a reference to the 2003 Teen Titans show. On the right is him after he becomes Superboy's best friend. He becomes a variant of YJ Gar.
Originally I was gonna just have YJ Gar but with pointy ears. Not sure if I should go with that or keep going with this son direction.
