He didn’t have a full night’s sleep and if there’s anyone he should be blaming right now it’s Jayden. Andrei dared to think he may have grown immune to the soft eyes and gentleness with which the younger carries himself, but one step too close was all it took. In the comfort of his cabin, he’d been thinking of their upcoming meeting. A date, the younger said -- and thinking about it brought him a giddiness he wouldn’t have anticipated. Suddenly, he’s seventeen again, nervous about dates and imagining possible outcomes and that is half the reason why he is out of bed so early. He washes up and picks something from the pile of washed clothes that smell nice, pressing his hands against the fabric before tucking the white tunic into his pants.
Andrei leaves before daybreak, wanting to be the first to arrive and the only one having to wait. He just didn’t think he’d have to wait so much though. Being late is fine, sometimes things happen and the anticipation is kind of nice, but he’s been sitting on that rock for a long time -- daybreak came and the sun rises in the sky the more he waits, yet no one shows up. He thinks he looks a bit dumb there, but he wonders if something happened to Jayden and any frustration is turned into worry. He gets up, patting any dust from his pants before he moves along, walking towards the village once again and in the direction of the omega’s little ‘villa’. He tells himself that it’s a casualty that he knows which one is Jayden’s cabin because he doesn’t need to admit to whatever else he knows but shouldn’t.
He steps forward, a hand up to knock, but he catches something in the air -- a scent -- and maybe his brain tells him it’s a good idea to perhaps scramble elsewhere, but his instinct keeps him nailed to the floor. He knocks once and then twice. “Hey Jayden, it’s Andrei. I was just wondering if you, you know, maybe forgot we had a thing this morning? I -- well, I thought I’d come to see if you’re okay or something like that, so -- you okay in there?”
