#bc is burning

If you’re the praying kind, or the good vibes types, please spare a thought for me and my community! I’m in BC and a forest fire that started this afternoon has shifted down towards my home. We’ve been put on evacuation watch.

Trying to pick what you would take in case of a fire is the weirdest thing.

My first thought was just I got my walls painted!!!

I guess this is a great reminder of the things that really matter.

Is there a reason why some nights are more haunting than others? I lie awake here while my lover lies beside me and I feel that skin-crawling feeling that something is amiss outside. There’s a cloud of smoke overhead but we’re not the ones burning. Maybe that’s precisely the problem. Every worldly ache is empathetically draining. Our neighbours house is burning - let’s set ours on fire.

BC is burning!!! Again... 2018. This year's addition, toxic air! (From all the wild fire smoke).

As per usual the entire province has been in a state of emergency. Our air quality is currently the worst on the continant.

I will add some visual aids to let others see how bad it is. When Misha posts videos about how bad the air is (in Washington) & that it looks like the apocalypse (he did for Gish) it's the smoke coming down from BC Canada.

I wonder if there will be Supernatural episodes where the smoke is actually seen in the episodes? It really is like a post apocalyptic haze out here.

So what do you all think will the smoke work into production of the show? They have been filming so it wouldn't surprise me to see it in a few episodes...

My home is currently surrounded by fire. We haven’t had such a bad fire season since 2003. There was no rain in June. And this has only been going on for maybe 9 days. It feels like it’s already been forever. Stress drags it all out. Makes the days seem longer. Cloaks the air with the darkness of smoke that is sometimes so thick, I can’t see my neighbors across the road. Ash falls on my house like rain. The air tastes like a constant source of campfire.

My boys are suffering from constant nosebleeds. We’ve all got irritated eyes. We’re currently under and an evacuation alert (meaning be ready to GTFO if they tell us to), a boil water advisory, and an air quality advisory. One of the vehicles we have goes with the boys’ dad to the firefighter center (he’s stationed on the fires), and another is loaded with all of our precious belongings and keepsakes.

I can’t wait to find somewhere to be able to breathe. I just want fresh, clean tasting air. I just want to be able to sleep without worry.
