Please note this year we are asking all requests to go in one request slot, delineated by a row of dashes (--------------). This is to help with the way I am hoping to sort the submissions and attempt to get people's possible matches. The instructions are on the sign-up page for how we need each request formatted to help us out. <3

BDSE Check-In #2

Hello fellow BDSE Participants!

The second check-in has arrived. This check-in is mandatory if you wish to remain in the event.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

If you do not check-in and we cannot reach you to get you to check in, you will be defaulted from the event and a pinch hitter assigned. - If you want to, you are still welcome to post your work in the event group and gift to your giftee at a later date even if you choose to drop.

If you have decided you want to drop out of the even, you must do it before July 31st to avoid penalty (penalty being the next event you will be unable to participate in).

If you need a beta reader (now or before the event ends) we need to know now to get you in touch with one.

🦇BruDick Summer Exchange Participants! Check-in is coming June 21-22. 🦇

The first check-in is coming up on June 21-22. We thought we'd give you a little reminder that the check-in was coming up! (I know I always like to be reminded before a check-in so I can at least get started before getting the email!)

🦇What is the check-in? A short email email with a form you need to fill out to tell us where you are with your assignment.

🦇 Why is it needed? A reminder about the Exchange. A gentle nudge to get started (if you haven't) on your gift. A reminder to tell us if you need to drop out so we can assign pinch hitters to fulfill your assignment.

🦇 Where is my assignment? Assignments have officially been sent to your email address associated with your AO3 account. Your assignment can also be found under your AO3 profile: https://archiveofourown.org/users/YOURUSERNAME/assignments

🦇 I have questions about the Requests. How do I contact my Giftee? DO NOT contact them directly. Contact the Mod Team, so that we can send your questions to your Giftee. This exchange is meant to be like a Secret Santa exchange, where you do not know who gifted your work until reveals happen later on.

Reminders & Tips

As we come up toward the remaining month just wanted to provide a few little tips and reminders! • Assignments are due August 14th • Ask for extensions now if you think you might need it! • If you decide to drop please tell myself or @femboyomega as soon as you know • You can post any time you want to on the event AO3; it's open. • The event AO3 is also open to gifts. We, in fact, already have some in there! :lovelovelove: • August 29th is the fic/art reveal date and August 31st is author/artist reveal date. You have a couple days for rampant guessing! • Even if you dropped out, you can still post your fic/art later into the AO3 as it will remain open, if you want to. 100% up to you! • If you need us, the mods are here, just DM us! Assignments were chosen with careful consideration of both offers and requests to the best of our abilities. Please remember that we cannot guarantee 100% matches due to the wonderful variety of requests and offers.

Each assignment contains multiple requests. You are only required to fill one of them.

FAQ

Where can I check my Assignment?

Assignments have officially been sent to your email address associated with your AO3 account. Your assignment can also be found under your AO3 profile: https://archiveofourown.org/users/YOURUSERNAME/assignments

If I don't like my Assignment, can I change it?

No. If you cannot work with the requests from your Giftee, contact a mod and we can ask your Giftee if they can provide another prompt for you to work with. However, if you wish to drop out, let us know ASAP, so we can look for a Pinch Hitter and provide them the most amount of time to work on the gift instead.

My Giftee didn't specify if they wanted fanfiction or fanart. What should I do?

If your Giftee didn't specify a medium, then create whichever works for you!

I am an artist, but my Giftee wants fanfiction. What can I do?

Sadly, we can't guarantee participants will get the medium they want. If you do not feel comfortable writing and you can create artwork from the prompts, contact a mod ASAP. We can attempt to get a new prompt for you. If you choose to drop out, let us know ASAP, so we can look for a Pinch Hitter and provide them the most amount of time to work on the gift instead.
