ok like i've written 2 (?) empty rescue fics now but the itch has still not been scratched. it's like a little idea keeps fluttering around in my periphery but i haven't grabbed onto it yet. and idk what it is!! maybe i'll figure it out. maybe i never will. and maybe i should actually work on the long list of WIPs i want to write instead of chasing after an imaginary butterfly

That almost sounds like a contradiction, doesn’t it. How can you persevere while you’re standing firm? Persevere sounds like an “action” verb, while “stand firm” sounds like inaction.
