Some Things You Should Know About The Beach!
Okay, so a lot of people are planning to go down to the beach for the summer/spring break. I live just a little ways from the beach and noticed somethings people do that usually harm the beach/locals. So here’s a few things that I advice you to do!
1. Clean up your mess! If you had food or drinks on the beach please clean them up. It’ll make the beach look cleaner and is more safe for the environment.
2. There are usually flags on the beach that are different colors. These represent the size of the waves or if they have wildlife in them. The most common list of colors are:
Green: Low hazard, waves are calm, but still be cautious.
Yellow: Medium hazard, there is a light surf and currents could be present.
Red: High hazards, high surf and strong currents. (would NOT recommend if you are a poor swimmer).
Double Red (two red flags): Beach is closed to the public, mostly due to weather, strong currents, or wildlife. DO NOT TRY TO SWIM.
Purple: Wildlife warning. Animals in the water include sharks, dolphins, rays, jellyfish and other dangerous fish. Usually it is okay to go in just be cautious of where your stepping/swimming.
3. If you got a jellyfish sting, remove stingers by rubbing with seawater. Ice packs can help to ease the pain or lotion/aloe if you have any. Shaving cream and baking soda (as a paste) can help as well. If you get stung by a box jellyfish, get medical help IMMEDIATELY! Box jellies are known to be extremely venomous and could kill in minutes! Also if the sting of a non venomous jelly covers a large area where they or you’ve been stung. Things that will NOT work as a remedy: Human urine (I’ve seen people do this as a joke and trust me, it doesn’t work.) tight bandages or even regular bandages at times, and rubbing it with or without sand.
4. If you are looking for seashell, be careful on what you pick up. Some could have hermit crabs, snails, or mollusks living inside of them! If you want a animal free shell, try looking more up the beach towards the dunes/entrance. BUT DO NOT CLIMB ON THE DUNES.
5. Speaking of dunes, they provide homes for animals, protection from hurricanes and flooding to the people living there, and help with the growth of plants. So when you’re walking or driving on the dunes, you’re harming them.
6. There’s a huge difference between sunscreen/spray and sunblock/lotion. Sun lotion helps protect you from the sun better, but can wash off easily depending on the brand. Sun screen doesn’t wash off easily but doesn’t protect you from the sun well. Choose wisely!
7. Stay hydrated! It gets very hot out there even when you’re swimming so be sure to bring some water!
8. If a shark swims up next to you, stay calm. Most sharks won’t even bother humans if you leave them alone. However, if one is truly attacking you, punch them in the gills/eyes. It may seem harsh I know, but it’s better than losing a hand or foot. Though it is true you can punch them in the nose, it could just taken them aback for a moment. Most sharks who swim up towards beaches are not great whites by the way. usually (in my area) it’s Blacktips and Spinners. But that doesn’t mean that they aren’t dangerous.
9. Make sure it is legal to fish in that area if you are planning to. Most beaches have special docks/boardwalks where you can fish on. Be prepared to show or buy your fishing license because you’re most likely going to need one.
10. Brightly colored sea animals could mean they are venomous. Blue ringed octopus, cone snails are incredibly deadly but gorgeous. If you have tidal pools to the beach you’re going to, read about what fish you can pick up and can’t even get near.
That’s all I have for right now! I hoped you enjoyed this! Oh, and if I made a mistake, feel free to tell me!

How good tan in the sun, but do not burn
Going on a long-awaited vacation to the sea, you should know how good tan in the sun and it does not harm their health. Let’s talk about it.
Beautiful tan or chocolate bronzing always decorates man makes it visually younger and your skin – healthy and sparkling. But sunbathing to be careful, otherwise there is a risk of burns or heat stroke. So we talk about how good tan in the sun.
Beach rules
Getting ready for a holiday by the sea, you have to take with them not only a swimsuit, but also the means to protect the skin. This is, first and foremost, sunblock that protects the skin from the damaging effects of ultraviolet radiation and moisturizer after tanning. Last resort will not only fix the bronze shade, but also to remove the heat, soften the coarsened from the wind and salt water skin, moisten it after a long stay on the hot sand.
Probably you know that tanning should be individualized, taking into account the peculiarities of the organism. Cream have different levels of protection, that is a different spf filter. The lighter your skin, it is more sensitive than the more protection you need. Children immediately choose the maximum spf-filter (at least 30). Remember that the cosmetic product will protect you from premature aging, facing abuse sunlight.
And a couple of tips
Even using all necessary means to protect skin, still try to sunbathe only in the morning or evening hours.Noon is the hottest time of the day, so there is a good chance to get a severe sunburn and heat stroke, even if you’re in the water. Therefore, the middle of the day is better to spend a well air-conditioned room or in the shade. Going to the beach, grab a hat and sunglasses. Surely you do not need to explain why.
Do you want to know how good tan in the sun to a friend died of envy when you come home? There is one trick: a series of sunbathing and swimming. You can do so: moisten saltwater body and let the bright rays dry you. When the moisture to evaporate, do the same. You can continue indefinitely, and as a result you get an amazingly beautiful skin tone for a fairly short time. Make this myself!
