Quarantine // A Little Smile.
It was official: the little town of Green River was in quarantine.
With the pandemic quickly spreading, distance was the only way to keep safe. But to be honest, not too much had really changed around town itself. Town hall and the few stores on the main street were closed and the school had been shut down of course, but then again, Green River had already been a rather quiet place to begin with. Not much to do around here anyway.
Not that Billy minded at all.
He had always been a quiet fellow, already preferring to stay at home and busy himself with his work (which was thankfully easily done from home) and hobbies.
Many a day had been spent at his property, a rough cabin that was far outside of Green River, tucked into the trees and resting by the side of a crystal clear lake. Walking around his property taking photographs of the world around him, playing video games through the night, and, of course, murder mysteries!
Most of his life had been spent in solitude, something he rather enjoyed. The quiet, the calm, it was all so perfect.
But this time, something was different.
This time, Billy had you.
The bear had somehow managed to steal the heart of a dorky little beauty, much to his absolute surprise and delight. When you first moved to the little town he called home, Billy had fallen for you right away..but never had he imagined that his feelings would ever be returned. Oh, you were so amazing, you were everything he'd ever dreamed of! Sweet and silly, you loved video games and murder mysteries and sci-fi as much as he did.
You were...perfect.
And now he had you all to himself.
Always an early riser, Billy stumbled out of bed and left you all wrapped in his massive blankets, a tangle of patchwork quilts and comforters, towns by claws and repaired over and over, different shades of thread wriggling along. A cold kiss pressed to your neck as he slipped away, paws padding on the wooden floors. It was quiet in the early morning way, when the world is waking up with you and you have a golden moment to yourself. The scent of coffee filled the house, warm and rich, as he leaned against the counter and stared out the barely open kitchen windows. Sunlight streamed through, noise slipping in through crack. His ears wiggled, searching the sounds. Bird songs and a slight breeze. The chatter of his neighbors. But other then that...quiet.
"Hey, you..."
A smile broke on his face as he felt your arms wrap around his belly (though you couldn't hold him entirely, he was far too large and you were far too tiny for that) and hold him tight, hands buried in his thick fur.
"Morning." He grumbled softly, grinning at your touch.
Pouring you a cup of coffee, the two of you sat on the couch and debated what you were going to do with your day. Slowly a plan unfolded before you. Popcorn and Murder She Wrote, a big blanket fort put up around the living room...it was perfect.
Lights were strung all around the room, blinking softly in gold.
Those old quilts were thrown around the room, pillows and furniture stacked in tall towers, creating a comfy little cave for you both to hibernate within.
He loved it!
Crawling inside, Billy curled himself into the pillows, sighing as he pulled you into his embrace. Soft and warm, you snuggled against his chest, laying your head on his chest and listening to his beating heart. Hands curled into his thick fur, gently tugging as he laughed softly, pressing his nose into your neck.
"You're so perfect," he mumbled, "So sweet..."
"Why does murder always make you so romantic?" You laughed.
He really didn't know. All the Billy really knew was that you made him so, so happy. Rumblings in his chest made you giggle, his playful growls reverberating through his thick form. It still amazed him that something as lovely as you could fall for a big oaf like him but, hey, who was he to question such a miracle? Cool, wet lips began trailing over your skin slowly, sweetly...he could feel how much you adored it. He could feel your heart beating with every kiss, your breath hitching with every touch, oh, how he loved it!
There was no end to this in sight...but in Billy's mind, that wasn't so bad. Heavy paws snuck up your shirt and rested on your belly as he considered all the time that you had together...
Oh, there were plenty of ways he could entertain you!
(I started writing this mini-series MONTHS ago and it’s crazy that this is STILL going on...You know, quarantine would be a lot more enjoyable if I had a big bear monster to cuddle with...just saying is all)
