Y'all I'm looking to switch the facial hair style up but want opinions, which one(s) do you think look best??? My default is the trimmed full beard, but have tried the moustache and recently trying the lowered beard with a moustache. But also could do just a moustache that's a bit longer idk.

I have seen a couple of people mention the idea of dwarves having beard styles for their gender expression, and I personally think this is a bad idea.

In my opinion, Dwarves are typically seen as a worker species, with focus on community over individual expression. I think beard style indicating gender expression goes directly against this.

Instead, I propose Dwarves have beard styles that represent their occupation within a dwarven state. Miners might have a handlebar mustache, while a Smith might have a goatee and so on.

In addition to this, beard dye and length could be a symbol of class, seniority, or more specific positions within an occupation. All this combined would allow dwarves to quickly and easily identify each other, and make sense thematically.

Dwarves transitioning between occupations would cut all their facial hair short, until they could grow the proper beard style for their new occupation.

And with the passage of time, you stop being like they want you to be, you stop being who they all expect you to be, and you start being yourself, once you realize that you, you must be your priority and you are also your most important project. 👌
