Overheard in class...
My valentine's shirt said "I love you 3000," which prompted an epic conversation yesterday.
Student 1: I can't really get into the superhero movies. Tony Stark gets on my nerves.
Student 2: (no lies, a favorite of mine) But he's attractive, classically handsome.
Student 1: That beard is ridiculous. No man is gonna trim that every day. That's why he gets in my nerves. He's wasteful. He's stands for everything I hate.
(I'm grading papers, they're working, I just listen)
Student 2: So you gotta like Cap then? He's wholesome and good.
Student 1: No man is that good. You can't trust a man that nice and that pretty.
Student 2: But, but (getting frustrated) he's loyal and always-
Student 1: Dogs are loyal-
Student 2: always standing up with his friends, defending them, doing what's right, looking for truth and that beard. That beard...
The thirst in her 17 year old voice... I felt it. I lost it. Oh, man. I just laughed out loud. She's always been such a fun young lady. I posted about her 3 years ago- she'd wear athletic shorts for basketball and her cowboy boots? She's just really fun to be around.
She laughed too and said, "I like Beardy Cap. I cried a little when he shaved."
I told her in all the years i've known her that's the funniest thing i've ever heard her say...
