Had the idea of creating elemental unicorn folk for my setting. The earth unicorns are known as Prismara, and have bits of rock, crystals and gems growing form their bodies. His name is Arman, btw.
A unicorn's development is shaped by magic, both imbued by their genetics and their environment. Arman was born to a pairing of two earth unicorns in an environment that had significant energies from the Elemental Plane of Earth, thus making him have these growths of crystals and rocks.

Beastblade (Magus Archetype)
For a magus, a familiar is a distinct tactical advantage, adding range to touch spells if they can’t strike foes directly, and providing utility and support to these combat-oriented mages. However, some magi take this further, utilizing the specialized magical techniques of their vocation to help improve their familiars further. These so-called beastblades thus become a dual force, their familiars, normally frail and weak compared to their masters, becoming a more important support to the magus overall. I imagine many of these magi develop this archetype informally, just having a stronger bond with their familiar than others of the same training. Others may develop it as a prestigious magical fighting style in magic-centric societies, similar to falconry in noble circles.
As implied by the nature of this archetype, these magi take a familiar as soon as possible over all other possible options. Soon after, these magi help refine their familiar’s control over any stored arcane energy, allowing them to retain a touch spell charge even if the magus decides to begin casting other spells. Thus, allowing the familiar to continue to attempt to deliver their magical payload while their master has full use of their abilities. Additionally, they develop that aspect of their bond further, allowing the magus to use a measure of arcane power to grant their familiar a selection of their lesser spells, allowing the familiar to cast them, even if they are not touch spells. Furthermore, this tag-teaming style allows the magus to take advantage. When the familiar delivers a touch spell to a foe, the distraction give them the time to sneak in a strike, bringing their foes closer to defeat. Want to kick ass with your little magical buddy? This archetype may be for you. Load up on touch spells and good magus debuffs and transfer them via familiar pool and transfer touch spell to your familiar so that the little guy can provide remote support for you, making for a great team. Combine with the mauler familiar archetype for a familiar that also performs well in combat in addition to hit-and-run spell delivery. Aside from that, build for plenty of arcane pool points, so you have some for yourself after granting your familiar what amount to remote-control extra spell slots.
Like so many other familiar-based archetypes, establishing the relationship between mage and familiar is especially important. Animal and other non-improved familiars, such as the ioun wyrd, and the petrifern might be akin to loyal best friends, while improved familiars, specifically outsiders, might view the magus as more of a professional associate. From there their relationship might develop. Discuss character development with your GM, especially if they usually roleplay the behaviors of NPC allies.
Iglioc the pseudodragon is disappointed that his master can never grant him the form of a true dragon, even temporarily, but he makes up for it in other ways, granting the little dragonling fire breath and other elemental attacks. He is pleased by this arrangement, and the pair are a devastating combination. As mercenary adventurers, they might be friend, or foe, depending on who hires them.
More rogue-ish than most magi, Redavar is a reformed drow trying to survive on the surface. Putting his stealthy skillset to the test, he acts as an assassin of sorts, albeit one that attacks more directly than most. That is not to say that he fights fair. For before every mission he sneaks his familiar, a petrifern named Wither, into the home of his mark, loaded with sinister, long-lasting spells to curse and weaken his mark before making his move.
Familiars are all the rage in the city of Celedren, and any mage without a magical companion of some kind is considered behind the times or out of touch. Even the mageguard, the city’s magus defenders, are in on it, developing familiars that are ferocious in battle, expanding upon their bond to give them the tactical advantage.
2014 was the year Space Dandy aired, I like to call it The Year of the Dandy
That's certainly what I'll be calling it.
Despite a few rough patches, this has easily been the best year of my life, and I honestly think I owe a lot of that to Space Dandy.
