Snowflakes Never Fail (That's the story name)
Okay, so from my last post I said I was so close to making a story between Marinette and Garfield (Beast boy) And I kind of did it. I've planned it and everything, but my plan is to post it and work on it when I finish one of my stories, and i want to post one of the first chapter I just finished making and wanted to see what you guys think of it. Give me your honest thoughts.
-----------------------------------
“Have you ever seen a snowflake?” The short black-haired girl asked the brown-haired boy.
The little boy looked at her confusingly when it was already snowing right now. “Yes, I have,” He says as if it wasn't a stupid question she just asked.
The young girl giggled, "But have you really laid eyes on one?" She arched her brow playfully at the bewildered boy.
As she gazed at the snowflakes gently falling from the sky, the girl couldn't help but feel a deep sadness. "Snowflakes can mean so many things," she whispered with a heavy heart. "But the meaning I cherish the most is the one that symbolizes peace and love." Her smile quickly faded as she continued, "It's a reminder of happy times with family. But as soon as they touch the ground," she trailed off, watching the snowflakes disappear into nothingness. "They're gone, just like everything else."
The little boy looked at the paled little girl “They melted”
The girl nodded “But the meaning of melting is a downfall”
At that, the little boy was taken off.
He didn't know how to respond to that.
It sounds like he may have finally grasped the message she was attempting to convey, or at least he believes he has.
The snowflakes had a meaning.
A meaning he didn't know about till now.
“We are the snowflakes” He mutters under his breath but loud enough for her to hear.
“If you're lucky enough” She points towards another snowflake, landing on top of a pile of snow. “Everything has a cycle”
The boy smiled at the smart little girl “It’s a good thing we are the snow then”
The girl rolled her eyes at the stupid boy “Snow melts too, just not as fast as snowflakes”
The boy looked at her with a questioning look “What’s that supposed to mean?”
As she gazes into his eyes, her voice is heavy with sadness. "Everything ends eventually," she murmurs, a deep sigh escaping her lips. "We may have moments of happiness, but they fade away just as quickly as they come." She turns to look at her parent's bakery, where the couple inside are busy fulfilling everyone's orders. "And then we are left with nothing." Her eyes meet his once more. "Our happiness is fleeting and fragile, and it always slips away from us in the end."
The boy suddenly scoffs “That’s a bunch of nonsense” He crosses his arms.
The short paled hair girl looks offended by this “It’s true!” She shouts at him.
“And you have proof?” He comes closer to her and leans a bit while looking up and down at the now pissed-off girl.
“Nuh uh” He shakes his head “If there’s no proof then it’s not true”
She stomps one foot “It’s true!!” She raises her voice a bit louder.
“Then” He looks around him “Where is it?”
The girl appeared exasperated with the brown-haired boy as if she was close to hanging him. "You'll see!" she glared at him. "One day, it will happen in your life, and when it does, I won't hesitate to say I told you so," she said with a high-pitched voice.
The boy gives her an annoyed face “That won’t ever happen”
She abruptly moves closer to him and exclaims loudly, "I told you so!"
The sudden outburst startles the young boy. Passersby shoot curious glances their way as the hyper little girl beside him giggles uncontrollably.
"Okay, okay," he says, trying to keep his composure.
She gives him a mischievous grin, clearly enjoying the fact that she startled him.
Suddenly, a voice calls out the girl's name. "Marinette!"
The children turn to see a woman waving at them from outside a nearby bakery. Without warning, the little girl takes off at a sprint, almost tripping several times along the way.
"I'm coming, Maman!" she shouts as she reaches her laughing mother.
Before the girl disappears inside the bakery, the boy musters up the courage to ask for her name.
He cups his hands around his mouth and shouts as loudly as possible, "What's your name?!"
The girl turns around, mirroring his gesture with a smile. "Marinette," she says, turning to her mother before looking back at the boy. "Marinette Dupain Cheng."
The boy chuckles at her response. "Garfield," he says, pausing for effect. "Garfield Logan!"
