We would like to give a big shoutout to Cassidy Megan of #Canada who started Purple Day in 2008 in an effort to bring awareness to those with Epilepsy. March 26 is now recognized worldwide as a day to support those with Epilepsy. Many of you know that I have a daughter who was diagnosed a few years ago and I can tell you that people like Cassidy and other organizations have helped me and my family understand more about this disease and how to deal with it. Did you know that 50 million people worldwide have Epilepsy? That is 1 in every 100 people! And half of the cases are a result of unknown causes (like my daughter) which makes this illness that much more frustrating.
