Humans were naturally curious creatures, born to question, designed to defy and shaped to fight the unjust in this world. She grew up believing in the corruption of their country's government, trusting her instincts that told her each person had the potential to become something worse given the right motivation and placed in the right situations.
Of course being the daughter of a powerful and influential woman in a great country sure had a lot to do with her view of this world. How soon she realized the true nature of people. How quickly her innocence faded away and her soul trickled out of the cracks of her insecurities.
She was considered privileged, spoiled and shallow on the surface and truth be told it made her life much easier than she'd anticipated. She isn't seen as a threat and for that she had the upper hand in life. Men tended to spill secrets to beautifully young and seemingly naive women blinded by what might come from their openness. And who was she to warn such imbeciles of their own stupidity.
No one would ever think that the overly confident and enthusiastic brunette could be related to the Hansleys. Her father a wealthy businessman, her mother the chief justice of the United States, two brothers shareholders in the theme park known as Westworld and her younger sister the CEO of a private security company she herself founded. It seemed she was the odd one out of a powerful and famous family.
Contrary to popular belief, not even one member of her assertive family had been against her rather odd choice of a career. In fact her mother praised her for it and her father supported her financially until the day she wouldn't need his help anymore. Oh the look on her sister's face was one for the books, smoke was practically shooting out of her reddened ears as the thick vain on her forehead bulged in rage.
However becoming a reporter considering her identity was an impossible feat, she came up with a terrific idea to become someone else, changing her shining golden locks to a deeper shade and cutting it short up to her shoulders, always keeping them straight in contrast to her naturally curly hair.
The woman staring back at her is nothing like the angelic beauty she used to be. The oldest daughter of Malia and Anthony Hansley she was no more. No longer an enthusiast bombshell, never a ray of sunshine again. The brunette smirking at her was Letty Reeves, a cunning reporter, a selfish perfectionist with a sharp sense of passion. She was the ruthless queen of her own kingdom.
And such personalities attracted additional attention onto herself but rather than to hide from it the woman relished in the fact that all eyes were on her. She made a name of herself and everybody in the world would be watching her with admiration, anticipating her next moves, waiting passionately for her next article. She loved these assiduities except when it came to a certain tall dark haired man whose ebony colored eyes could pierce her soul.
She loathed Logan Delos with an unmatched passion and for someone who would never forget any wrongdoings committed against her Letty's growing hatred for the fuckboy only increased after their troubled past.
What started out as a general inquisitiveness toward the painfully attractive man turned into an infatuation of the worst kind. It was never a good idea to pair up two equally cocky and self driven progressivists together and yet here they were, intertwined in more ways than one.
The more time she spent with the infuriatingly charming man, the more she realized the truth in William Shakespeare's rather ominous words; the hell is empty and all the devils are here. Because the gorgeous man beneath her couldn't possibly be a normal human being. No, he was a demon in disguise. And how she adored his beautiful mask.
And despite what her heart told her, how many times it warned her to stay as far away from him as possible... she still listened to her head, as she always did. Logan Delos like the snake he was managed to crawl into her life so effortlessly and cause the most delicious mayhem that left her craving more.
Not a one shot but I liked it. I might write more about Logan and Letty, they're my favorite not-couple!
to me, Helsinki is like a bubble.
one old unknown small bubble.
clean soap and salty water.
snowflakes all around the stars,
even in the summer.
inside my skin turns red, showing all of my scars.
the love for coldness is so hard to get used to,
but even a hateful person who leaves it for a while,
turns blue more and more with every single mile.
blowing cigarette smoke out of your lungs in a balcony never felt so right.
with every cold breath, my affection only deepens without a chance for me to fight.
I’m getting too old out here, but never did I truly get used to these frostbites.
