Cease to be
In the dim light of my despair, I see your shadow everywhere. I can't unsee you with him.
Giving up on us means giving up on me, Because you are everything my heart desires.
If your heart belongs to another, My life shatters, There's no purpose for me to discover. A hollow shell, a ghostly frame, Without your love, I'm lost. I am nothing.
I wander through the empty streets, A soul adrift, no heartbeat meets. The world, a blur, a distant cry, Without you, I have no reason why.
I thought my love for you was strong, But now I see, it was as fragile as glass. Glass, you dropped on the floor when you slept with him.
You told me you were not looking for love, When the truth was you were not looking for it from me. You accepted the love from him, And left me here, with nothing true, wondering what is wrong with me.
So I'm giving up on life, You see, For without you, there's no me. A void, a chasm, deep and wide, No light, no hope, just endless night.
I write these words with trembling hand, A final note, a last command. To love you was my only goal, But now, I surrender.
In the silence, I will fade, A memory, A ghostly shade.
For giving up on you means giving up on me, And in this darkness, I'll cease to be.
