I felt extremely comfortable dming you for the first time after a few convos in the discord server compared to how uncomfortable I feel dming people I’ve had irl convos with (or how long I usually need to chat with people in discord servers before I can feel comfortable dming them)

Plus with how comfy I was with the prospect of meeting up with you right away heeyaw very approachable and cool to me

Sometimes Midoriya's love for Todoroki overflows and he goes on long ridiculous overly specific tangents about Todoroki's cute mismatched socks and his insistence on eating cutlet sandwiches cold to his long-suffering friends, totally peeling away the 'cool, stoic' image over time.

Todoroki says he's ruining his reputation, with an exasperated, but fond smile.

we haven't written a ton together BUT i absolutely LOVE what i read from you in threads with other people. the way you capture homelander's voice is honestly impressive. i think you're incredibly talented as a writer and i think you put a lot of thought into the way that you write him and it absolutely shows. i always feel like characters like homelander are difficult to write for a bunch of reasons but i feel like you absolutely do a fantastic job of it. you get the character, the way you dissect and understand him without like. making him too soft (if that makes sense) or trying to tone down who he is or how he acts is so -chef kiss- and i feel like you just get the balance right. 10/10. idk it's just a reminder to me that you can love and write a shitty character without sacrificing character to make them more likeable or someone to get along with. IDK IF THAT MAKES SENSE I MEAN IT AS A COMPLIMENT LIKE YOU WRITE HOMELANDER REALLY WELL AND I CAN TELL YOU HAVE A LOT OF LOVE FOR THE COMPLEXITY OF THE CHARACTER IS WHAT I MEAN IDK

i totally get what you mean, love! it's tough because the instinct a lot of the time when a character has sympathetic qualities or moments is to play those up, but homie doesn't really let himself act on those moments too often. much to my frustration. i always say the difficult thing about him is that he has the makings of a redemption arc right at his fingertips but the nature of his character is that he refuses to touch it.

3. Which part was hardest to write? Goddamn chapter 10. While the rest of the story is set in familiar territory and required virtually no research, I was majorly hung up on getting Atem's side of the story right. I made myself a drink the night I posted that chapter I was so nervous about it.

Oh wait and the part in chapter 8 where Yugi's, uh idek how to describe it, ~lost in the void~. That was something really hard to get from my head to coherent words.

4. If you could change anything in KTLS, what would it be? If you asked me this the week after I finished posting it, I would have had a laundry list of things I wish I had approached slightly differently, but at this point, I'm happy with it as it is, and it's the story I wanted to tell. lmao I've moved on to a new fic to agonize over

6. Which scenes did you cut, and which were added? I cut a lot from chapters 2 (gratuitous spookiness) and 5 (Yugi and Atem getting used to each other, with all the extra creepy log entries). A lot of ideas tossed not because I didn't like them, but because the chapters were getting loooooong.

The first half of chapter 9 was never in the plan, but I think ended up being essential. They both had a lot to process, and a little space before coming back together was necessary breathing room.

7. Who was your favourite character to write? Don't laugh but it was Pegasus, hands down. He was so much fun (you know, just being that villain you love to hate) and the comments reacting to him were so visceral, I loved it.

"i was followed again last night,” quinn spoke suddenly, nonchalantly, preoccupying herself with the frayed edge of a pillowcase. she wrapped her finger around the thread, letting it go, and then repeating herself.  after a moment and with a grunt, she propped herself onto her elbow, chin resting in the palm of her hand. “i wasn’t worried and i don’t think i am.” at least for me. she doesn’t say it, but it’s evident in the way how different her tone is, the way she carried her voice. quinn typically spoke lowly, aphoristically, too, but here was clear, almost too loud. as if she didn’t recognize the sound of her own voice.  

briefly, she had thought about camille, and then jonah, too. knots have twisted in her gut at the thought of anything happening to them at her own, however distant, accord. “i - i can take care of myself, i think. there’s a gun in the drawer underneath the register. just in case, you know. s’just - strange, i guess. m’assuming that it has somethin’ t’do with, uhm, dakota, i think. that maybe someone’s lookin’ for her.” quinn shrugged then and brought her attention elsewhere. “do y’have any idea who that might be? you - you, uh, know her better than i do.”

              darkness was encroaching upon new york --- the little village of greenwich growing darker with the uses of magics, the muggles beginning to grow suspicious of the mysterious crimes around the city. while he could be out doing something about this, the sorcerer and former author was holed up in the sanctum sanctorum, keeping to himself and allowing time for his hands to heal. no amounts of magics that he poured into them would help, his powers merely.. dulling the pain, when it grew too much to bare. 

the knock upon his door as a result, caused the magic user to be on edge. his blue eye shone with disused magics --- the sorcerer quietly moving to open the door, just a bit, to give himself a look on who was on the doorstep. the man was.. unfamiliar to him, though he could sense strong magics radiating off of him.   “   did you make an appointment? i’m assuming the answer is no, so please be on your way.   ”
