💚 #greenforbrandi • This cover is being posted because one of my most amazing friends, Brandi, passed away today. I met her through a wonderful community on Instagram almost three years ago. She has brought so much light and joy and beauty into my life that has changed my life forever. I have a hard time dealing with things like this, so I reach for creative outlets to help me grieve. She used to ask me to sing a lot, so here I am, doing just that. I picked For Good from Wicked for two reasons. The first being that my brain made the connection between pink, her favourite colour, and green, the colour I found and used for the hashtag above, and instantly thought of Wicked. The second is that every lyric in this is so true. I really have been changed for good. She has been so so impactful in so many people’s lives, and I am blessed to be one of them. Brandi has one of the gentlest souls I have ever come across, taking the challenges she faced with a smile on her face and hope in her heart. In 2009 she had her first heart transplant, and just recently it failed. On Sunday i was told she was fine. Today i find out they’re removing her from care. It’s hitting me really hard, but I know that I promised her I’d keep going, even if she wasn’t able to at some point. I’m going to keep that promise with every fibre of my being. I love her so much. I will always love her. So much.
