Aloha! Here's my latest Generation Gap comic strip in today's @hawaii_herald • Maneki Neko is referred to as "lucky cats" but literally are "Beckoning cats." They beckon good luck, wealth, customers, and other good fortunes to happen. I learned a lot researching this. The different paws up mean something, whether they have a coin or a hammer, and the colors (I didn't know there were green, blue, and pink ones...)
