Aww, haha, thank you! I actually think I may have misused “valence” there, or at least when I Google it the only definition it gives is the chemistry concept. (There is a Wikipedia article on the meaning that I meant, but makes it sound like it’s a technical psychological concept and not like, a common-usage word? I’m not trying to be pretentious, I swear, I just pick up words indiscriminately when they’re interesting and useful)

where did this blue fur coat and face star guy-man look come from ? because i love it sosososo much but i have no idea where it came from !

hey there -

the fur + star combo comes from a band called darlin’ that guy and thomas (along with future phoenix guitarist laurent brancowitz) were part of in their late teens, prior to the formation of daft punk. 

apparently guy-man had a very distinct image during this period: the interviews that do talk about darlin’ in more depth mention that he wore a fur coat, a star on his cheek, and glitter on his hands. in theory it’s a pretty killer look, but it’s also been said that his hair was real greasy and that he carried all his stuff around in a plastic bag, so take from that what you will (lol).
