BREAKING. Huge news. Hostage recovered alive! It's not surprising that Al Jazeera is withholding the name of the rescued hostage today. Why?
Because the rescued hostage was Qaid Farhan al-Qadi (52 years old), a Muslim Arab Bedouin who was rescued in a Gazan terror tunnel, saved by dozens of Israeli Jews who put themselves in mortal danger in a daring and dangerous operation.
The hostage rescue was carried out by Israel's Shayetet 13 Unit, an elite group of Navy Commandos, with collaboration from the IDF southern command, the Shin Bet security agency, and the IDF's 162 Division.
Shayetet is the Hebrew word for "Cruise" and is Israel's equivalent of the US Navy Seals.
This is a picture of Qaid Farhan al-Qadi before Oct 7th.
This is a picture of Qaid Farhan al-Qadi in a hospital bed in Israel, with his religious Muslim brother and a religious Jewish doctor. There are 2 million Muslim Arabs who lives as equal citizens in Israel -- IDF soldiers risked their lives to bring him home, with the focus and vigor as they would any other citizen.
This represents Israeli partnership in all its glory is exemplified in this powerful and joyful moment. Would you see such an image in ANY Arab Islamic country?
May he have a refuah shleima mehara.
